Deanowls, I think what you’re missing is that Nat is the dark lord and hates all of us and is responsible for all the really bad stuff that ever happens. Including that time you got a flat tyre on your car. Nat did it. Lol. |
What support is he giving them. And to what benefit?
He could buy the whole company and could have bought it a lot cheaper than today. The man has put huge amounts of time and effort into building this company. |
Yep, in the US it's mainly Californian Democrats that bought Teslas.
Team MAGA is still fond of its gas-guzzlers. |
That's the demographic Musk designed the Cybercrock for. But I suspect it's a very limited market! |
I don't think many MAGA Trump fans would be seen dead in an EV. They tend to prefer enormous 7 litre V8 pick-up trucks! |
@Dr B, don’t think that’s the case. Across its biggest European markets sales dropped 47.5% this Jan (year on year).
Also, in the biggest US market (California), sales are dropping.
I don’t have overall US stats, but left leaning states probably sell more EVs, and Musk is probably annoying them more.
However, I rarely see these moral moves last long. Eg dieselgate for VW. Also, it doesn’t affect the overall EV market really as people will just switch brand. |
Probably just as many going to buy a Tesla because of Musk as those that will not. At least in the US. Europe will probably tank though given his/trumps unpopularity over here. |
>>No human with any kind of morals could now drive a Tesla.>>
I think we're calling them swasticars now ;-) |
? you are not going back to an IC car. No human with any kind of morals could now drive a Tesla. If you have one it must be embarrassing to get in it in the mornings. |
Good point - I am sure that Musk's high profile political alignment with Trump will have put off a lot of liberal leaning EV drivers. But that doesn't mean they're going to start buying petrol cars. |
VW on a tear. Who cares if people aren't buying Tesla's? EV sales were through the roof in January.Snapshot electric vehicle sales in Jan 2025 vs Jan 2024 (m-o-m vs Dec '24)Global: 1.3 million, +18% (-35%)China: 0.7 million, +12% (-43%)EU & EFTA & UK: 0.25 million, +21% (-19%)USA & Canada: 0.13 million, +22% (-28%)Rest of World: 0.13 million, +50% (-4%) |
Trumps biggest impact will be on usa consumers by inflationary price rises |
Lets see if trump pushes back tariff news until April. May give a boost here. Then again... |
I think the poor tesla car sales around Europe and other parts of the world in January are having a affect.
EV is only about 18% of VLX sales. But VLX might have to work harder in other areas to make up the weakness in the EV sector, to hit market expectations... |
Bored with these. Sold |
But he didn't get it wrong and it is not a 'blot' on his record! TTG would have added additional markets in aerospace and defence. There would have been a couple of years of hard work taking costs out of the business and sorting the company out but it would have been worth it. |
He's got most acquisitions right, so getting one wrong isn't exactly a large dent in his track record. |
Personally, NR put a blot on his track record with that attempted TTG fiasco. Need another set of results before this moves on. |
Rothschild keeping it down. |
Up market and still tied down |
and the rest |
If no shorts this would easily be plus 300p. |
