EPS has risen significantly from last year to this....Every financial measure has made a positive step change since last year.On the price drop, people often take profits on or before results day but investors look at longer term.Whilst over a day or week we may see some fluctuations in share price, over a longer period the trajectory is upwards. I bought more on the drop today.

it really amazes me s34icknote - you would be crazy to trust your savings to an investment manager. Most will only care about their 1%+ take - i wonder how many investors have lost 60%+ this year.

I reiterate my point here. With the family group holding a substantial majority of the shares, will they not do what's best for them (eg. a lowball management buyout), rather than what's best for private investors?

Steady as she goes. Obvs the macro situation is not great but I think this will likely be end of the Victoria Plumb. This could play out in a number of ways: (i) recap from the existing majority shareholder; (ii) goes bust; (iii) bought by VIC; or (iv) bought by another offline competitor. Any one of the above could happen but if you look at slide 18 of the investor presentation you can see a marked decline in visits to the competitor's website and an increase in VIC's visits.

They expect marketing spending to go back to historic levels (25% of sales). This and the falling away of competition should lead to EPS growth as the comparators become less demanding. The co also expects growth to come from growth in trade and adjacent products. Forecast EPS on Sharelock Holmes is 5.3p for next year.

Analysts at Berenberg almost halved their price target for specialist retailer Victorian Plumbing from 130.0p to 70.0p on Wednesday as they lowered the group from 'buy' to 'hold', citing inflationary headwinds.

Berenberg said Victorian Plumbing's annual general meeting trading update on 24 February highlighted the fact that higher-than-expected inflation was impacting margins.

The German bank highlighted that while the group had outperformed the market, it expects retail DIY demand normalisation to continue to drag on top-line performance.

"Although a challenging market environment provides scope to capitalise on sub-scale peers – which is positive in the long term – with sales and margin headwinds likely to continue, we believe there are only a limited number of positive catalysts to drive improved investor sentiment," said the analysts.

What do you suspect Charo? Why an investigation? I imagine investors are being cautious for now that's all

Investors chronicle:

'Investors may have been spooked by a plan to ramp up marketing spend to achieve growth, but with the shares trading on seven times forecast cash profits its valuation as an online retailer with a recognisable brand looks cheap. Buy.'

The placing was sat £2.60

It has fallen 27.5% since then (June 2021). The initial investors must be a little sick.

At what price is it good value?
