Well done to Victoria for having the courage to walk away when they couldn't get the right deal. They are properly looking after their shareholders.

Don't forget either that the analysts are forecasting VCP will make £25m pre-tax this year. That means that even without Lano, VCP is trading on a PE of only 13x! That's not expensive.

And anyway it will only be a few weeks before Geoff finds another opportunity.

I'm hanging in.

According to small co sharewatch Geoff Wildings ultimate aim is to sell-out to a large American company.

Pleased you liked the list :o)

I had better to get back to VCP.

Noticed the RNS today.

"The Board of Victoria PLC (LSE: VCP) the international designers, manufacturers and distributors of innovative floorcoverings, is today beginning a two day capital markets event for investors and analysts in New York and Connecticut, hosted by Cantor Fitzgerald."

VCP revenue is mainly from the UK and about 35% from Australia, wonder why they are are promoting the company in the US? Will try and keep an eye on volume during and after the presentations, might create more demand.

Ah yes boy plunger.
What amazes me is he still went bust in the end, you'd have thought he would have learnt from experience. If ever there was a conspiracy experience then the way he died must be near the top. Apparent suicide but with a wife who's previous 4 husbands had killed themselves, very odd.

Another book worth a mention is come into my trading room by Elder.

It is an excellent read imo.

Some of favourites are as follows.

Trade like a Stock Market Wizard / Mark Minervini

Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets / Stan Weinstein

Market Wizards / Jack Schwager (All four books in series)

How to Make Money in Stocks / Jim O'Neal

There are many others that deserve a mention, but the ones listed above are the ones that I keep going back to and re-reading.

"How To Trade in Stocks" I guessing you mean this one. One of my favourites, must have read it 10 times over the years.

Agree that 1500p level could act as a psychologically important level, worth looking back at the recent history at 500p and 1000p levels.

Jesse Livermore used this strategy and would buy at these whole number levels many years ago.

An important breakout. Further ascent looking likely after building a rather nice 'base camp' at the psychologically important £15 level :-)

Missing your knowledge on this thread.
My opinion is GW can only sell VCP completely, any more personnel share sell's
will see the the price plummet.
If there is no divi declared next year, when we should be at £20+.I will be taking some profit.

Very strong update this morning, a double whammy really with profits materially ahead and net debt materially lower. It would seem that when they said that each acquisition would be immediately earnings enhancing, they were indeed correct to say this.

And benefits set to continue into new financial year.

Noticed some rather large transactions today, could be under accumulation?

Good results - Cantors say "Trading update flags results well above expectations", and they (Cantors) are upgrading their TP to 1750p from 1650p.
