22/4/2004 12:57 | exotic; ref your question on generally at the 'sell' signal, the rsi will be high and vice versa. It should be remembered that the MACD is a LAGGING indicator and although it is correct to say that the crossovers are buy / sell signals, the signals actually happen in real time before the crossovers. All indicators should be read in conjunction with others for an overall view. Hope that helps, rgds tr | tiraider
21/4/2004 22:18 | That's the first time I've seen that explained ... and succinctly too; the past history indicates that the reaction can be quite slight. | mike/homeruk
21/4/2004 20:41 | MACD, Moving Average Convergence Divergence The MACD of a stock, is formed by subtracting a long period or slow (exponential) moving average, from a shorter period (exponential) moving average. This is plotted as the red line. We plot the moving average of the MACD line itself as the blue or slow line. Finally we plot the difference between the fast and slow lines as a histogram around the origin. Using the cross between the fast and slow lines, when the fast line crosses above the slow line, that is a bullish (buy) signal, when the fast line below the slow line, that is a bearish (sell) signal. | exotic
21/4/2004 15:24 | It certainly looks that way. 10p is always a key psychological level. Chart looks great. Resistance finally broken. MACD spot on. New 52 week high. I think the final signal could be when Level2 strengthens. Still on 3v3, but nearly all buys so far. | exotic

13/4/2004 09:44 | Vending software supplier vianet is potentially a big winner , thanks to the efforts of new management. The group has developed vOpen , a telemetry device that can be fitted in most vending machines to allow vendind operators to remotely monitor stock levels, sales, cash and route planning. The system can significantly reduce an operators costs , as it helps minimise machine down-time , whilst also limiting shrinkage. Customer trials have revealed cost savings of more than 25%. Another benefit of remote monitoring is that goods with a short shelf life can be controlled easily , minimising stock wastage. Vianet also allows vending operators to assess sales in real-time and , to this end , the company has signed a 5 year marketing partnership with Alcatel. A licence fee of 2.75 m euro is payable to V in addition to a share of hardware revenues and a margin on service revenues. The deal does not involve significant investment from V - it will instead benefit from Alcatels marketing muscle. There are 6.4m vending machines in Europe generating sales of $25 bn and groweth of 5%p a Last year Selecta agreed to install 250 units across europe and though still under trial a major rollout is possible given that Selecta has over 10000 machines. Red Bull is also buying 150 units. Recent fund raisings mean Vianet has sufficient cash and as sales ramp up the cost of manufacture should fall. Another potential source of growth is so called micro-payments which will allow users to pay for goods using mobile phones. Expect monthly profitability in 2005 | monkeymonkey

01/4/2004 11:21 | NMS is only 3k, (set by LSE) so has a history of low bargain sizes. Any trade over 6*, ie 18k will be delayed one hour. Each MM does quote 50k though so normall trading should be fine. | currypasty |
