02/2/2022 21:19 | So if it was a science experiment we would do the other 5000 sq ft as a 'control' with std. concrete and rebar. But, I think we are well past the science experiment stage so will the landlord let Neill go wild if he likes what he see's with the first half and increase the strength some more or use our other type of graphene? Or will it get the same treatment? Place your bet's eyes down... | laginaneil
02/2/2022 21:01 | I see the second bay has no cement yet. I guess that is the other 5000 sq ft. Is that tomorrows project ? | laginaneil
02/2/2022 20:52 | Philby, So how much cash did VRS really use last year?! Certainly no where near your £7m! The burn rate is low for such a business. | chillpill
02/2/2022 20:35 | Evening Folks, So did anybody find out what was used in the 3D printer? You know this Cementene is replacing 'bread and butter' concrete but I am sure there are application waiting for us with 'super' concrete as well. e.g Carbon Fibre reinforced concrete, plus graphene ? Crazy ideas :- Wood - MDF made with graphene enhanced binders, resins and even fibre added with graphene??? I would guess this concrete would have excellent vibration damping properties, replacement of grey cast iron with cementene in machine tools bases ??? High end loudspeaker enclosures... So much potential the mind boggles. Crazy now = tomorrows products. | laginaneil
02/2/2022 20:34 | No even at £1000 per kg it's still small for a company losing £7 million a year. | philbyk144
02/2/2022 20:13 | Who paid what to whom? | supernumerary
02/2/2022 20:05 | Noticed that there is a bigger C in GSCALE? Concrete just got usurped by Construction It's the ubiquity of the product.Cementine + Polygrene Each complementing the other, creating more opportunities, revenue growth accross construction. All very exciting and the reason for increasing production. | fireball xl5
02/2/2022 19:42 | Philby if you are still working on £200/Kg you will find you are way off the mark. This is a high value product with no competition as all the others have problems whether it quality and/or dispersion issues. Did Nationwide mention £40 per cubic metre? Of the 1000t some will have been R&D so not worth extrapolating revenues expectations from that figure. It does however demonstrate a lot of work has already been done. | chillpill
02/2/2022 19:32 | In this pour there is no steel reinforcement, a conservative 10% reduction in concrete used ( landlords request) but 30% + can be removed. A presentation is here https://t.co/lW21Evk | 66sequoia
02/2/2022 19:30 | 'He was the guy who developed the Aecom Arch' -------------------- Marvellous. What's the latest on that? Cheers | britannicvs
02/2/2022 19:30 | Well in short it was the landlord that dictated the 10% to be removed which is fair enough I guess. | 66sequoia
02/2/2022 19:28 | So 1000 tonnes of concrete would need 100kg of concretene. Revenue's from this wouldn't be considered meaningful. | philbyk144
02/2/2022 19:27 | 66sequia, I cannot make your link. What does it say please? | ridicule
02/2/2022 18:57 | He was the guy who developed the Aecom Arch with VRS before joining them, but then moving onto Amey. A great move and given his knowledge of what Graphene can do, I suspect it won't be long until there is some formal link up with them if not already. | cheek212
02/2/2022 18:56 | Page 8 of the presentation. They have already cast 1000t of concrete using HP nano-platelets. The revenues (meaningful ones) will be a lot sooner than the Flat Earth Society would have you believe imo. | chillpill
02/2/2022 18:53 | The link with Amey is well known. An AECOM employee left them to join VRS in 2020 and then joined Amey over a year ago…..presumab | chillpill
02/2/2022 18:44 | My pleasure | kemorkid
02/2/2022 18:37 | Amey, Network Rail and Transport for Wales were three of this afternoons attendees at the pour. I wonder who else was there. Good to see we are being noticed by the big boys - just need to see those orders rolling in now. | cheek212
02/2/2022 18:02 | Thanks Kemo ! | laginaneil
02/2/2022 18:02 | I would like to have been a fly on the wall at the afternoon session ;-) | 66sequoia
02/2/2022 17:38 | One question I had that the NDAs may preclude answering; What was in the 3D printer? CyBe morta? CyBe +Graphinks? Cementene? | laginaneil
02/2/2022 17:38 | Thanks Lag, I missed that! | hoverflyman
02/2/2022 17:32 | Hello Hover, If you notice in the pictures/video's the 'safety' vest have Cementene on them. That's the Versarien product that we are promoting. If nobody knows what is going onto the floor, concrete printers weighing tonnes or 3D printed model or for that fact anything new that graphene makes possible the sensible thing to do would be to 'overspec' it, especially as it's not our floor but the landlords. Just my thoughts.. | laginaneil |
