Big7

Jeremish & Johnboy would issue something akin to War Loan stock at a very low coupon.
You would be doing the Country a service by taking it. They aren't Capitalists!

Thanks for the heads up on ARC, janeann.

Big7. Owned RSW since 2008, added once and have never sold. I know its technology is superb and I have a great income stream. Not a seller, never, not nohow!

BOO story hasn't changed so I don't sell. Doesn't mean I'm not shaken by the drop!

PTSG

Winning new orders for fun, but the share price remains moribund:-(

Utilities
No chance of UK mergers.
Who is going to buy a company when Jeremiah & Johnboy are poised to Nationalise the sector, handing out worthless Government paper instead of current share certs?
Assuming that they are elected as a Government.

Yup. I wasn't comparing the companies, j. Just that TSTL had a slowdown in NHS - which surprised me at the time.

"What makes it stand out" is the key question. If it has a head start in a specialist area that is probably enough. So, who does it compete with?

Anyroadup, I've only just started to look at it, and even if I like it I'll be following the graph and newsflow for a while.

tstl - has a specialist product very necessary for resistance management so its in the right place at the right time. Not sure what mgp has that makes it stand out?

Good call Big on utilities. We have different styles. I only focus on companies but you look at sectors. Different strokes for diff folks.

Utilities cont. to rise. Guess the mkt got to know about my purchases ;). Either that, or realisation that the sector now vulnerable to int takeover bids

Absolutely Big - good to try learn even when you haven't lost money. I totally screwed up on PVG a year or two ago. I got out with a profit but that was due to my propensity to try find investments early - offered me protection when I bailed as had got in at a low price. However my assessment of the company's prospects was simply wrong. I noted a few lessons on here for me at that time.Funds are not smart money. They have too many restrictions and disadvantages compared to private investors on my view.

H I like to look at these instances to try to educate myself, to see if there were warning signs and I see that cash flow was negative, look like the co was growing too fast and borrowings were high. Quick analysis of Bal sheet I disregard goodwill so negative assets. I wouldn't have invested, I hope!

But so many funds got it wrong!

Big I do feel sorry for CVR holders as unlike most administrations this one wasn't as obvious. Well actually once the difficulties were announced holders should have got out but by then they'd have lost maybe 75% of their investment anyway.Overall it wasn't a high quality company so wouldn't have interested me. Cashflow was ok so no red flag there but personally the wafer thin profit margins would have put me off. Always the danger of big issues when costs rise if you have tiny margins.

Red, re CVR it highlights what danger there is with indiv shrs
Hope you didn't hold
On the face of it the co was doing well, increasing revenues, eps, divs, even directors were buying.
So what happened, did they not pay the excise duty on the liquor they had been selling or what? Fraud or management incompetence? Shareholders including some big institutions are likely to lose all their investment.
How many other companies with phenomenal growth are also a scandal I'm wondering

We are living in unusual times. Remember, if it's too good to be true

That's the key, Hydrus. I have a prejudice against companies that supply the NHS only. TSTL history is interesting.
They are in 100 hospitals.
There are a lot of hospitals in the UK:

Don't know how many of them are potential customers.
Might make an exception for niche software.
Management looks good.

Could be a BTFD, j? Seriously, it's a pretty common pattern after flotation as the company is highly polished for its maiden appearance.

Financial metrics are good APAD. When I looked at it, couldn't work out whether likely to continue to grow as fast as it has historically or whether it will soon hit a ceiling as demand for their services might be limited. Revenue growth has slowed down. In addition, firms that deal with NHS are tricky as NHS is so focussed on cost reduction that pricing pressures may continue indefinitely. Not one for me. Certainly not expensive though at current price.

I'm a bit slow, red. 😊

Medica Grp (MGP)
Thinking about buying a first holding after the recent fall from grace. Still grieving from the loss of the last puppy!

“Medica Group PLC is a United Kingdom-based company, which is engaged in the provision of teleradiology services. The Company offers an information technology (IT) platform that provides linkage between a hospital's radiology information system (RIS) and consultant radiologists who contract with the Company.”

Any views?

That is the point. If they can achieve 67.5p before the Xd date, I have a sporting chance.
