Freight/transportation can be a graveyard. There is a lot of competition around and margins are traditionally tight. High asset base that has to be near full utilization to get the numbers going he right way.
A generalization, I know, but reasons why you need to know the business intimately.

Purp - The industry is going through major transition, as the newcomers attempt to change the mindset of the consumer, and dislodge the traditional operators in the process. Maybe it is better to travel than to arrive. Riding the hype may be the way to make the money, but I am still unsure of the valuation in the longer term.

PTSG results are good and management seem sensible. Well done. Fall on results meaningless.

"From a business perspective, the first half 2017 has gone beyond our own expectations at PTSG"

"The PTSG operating model is both innovative and yet well established and volume is our friend, not our enemy, since the model is scalable so long as the areas of operation are carefully targeted. This is why our gross margin percentage has remained so steady at 51.1% (2016: 51.4%), only really affected by the mix of installation to testing and repair sales."

Dacian - thanks for IPO update yesterday. I try to remember to look periodically. Not seen anything I really like for a very long time now.

PURP! Nightmare stock, Hydrus, its got fangs.

Like everyone else I have no idea about Taptica.

Still ruminating about IDEA. I think I'll have to buy a holding to scratch the itch. Been ages since I have bought a new stock.

I reckon PTSG will blow the bloody doors off tomorrow, followed by BOO the next day.

ZOO - thanks APAD. Pleasing to have been buying it at just over 9p with an 11p average. Thing is after today it still only has an MCAP of £22m or so. Peanuts really. BVXP doing well today also. Really interested in TAP and PURP reports this week, both former holdings of mine. If PURP in particular is doing well I might have to dip my toe back in the Estate Agent infested water.

Organising transportation for a small margin is OK, dacian, if you have something special. Is it language, knowledge of regulations, or what?
PTSG off to the moon tomorrow (I hope:-)

ZOO does look solid. Good judgement, indeed.

Not sure about XPD.
Can't see why it is special.
Float pays off debt?
Difficult to interpret balance sheet (for me that is :-)

red - canacord have taken a stake in LTG because they took over Hargreaves hale - not a specific decision to purchase directly

Canaccord nose above the parapet in Ltg. Sp has settled down on the upside since the last Rns.
At least I am getting one right ATM.

Thanks I endorse all that you say.

I was told never to bet on takeovers, but two have previously escaped me where a modest profit was on the table.
Third time unlucky? Hope not.

TAP results tomorrow - should be interesting I no longer hold as it was making me too uncomfortable. Not quite sure why, probably the foreign ownership point. Cash generation does indicate it may be different though. We shall see.

Thanks Sheryl - I haven't got where I am today without making 180° errors. Doh!

GAW is a phenomenon that is impossible to understand (as is Lego):-)
