18/1/2017 07:50 | It's already come down a lot, H, - from ridiculous valuations (should've top-sliced). It's not heavily traded and is off the PI radar, which is necessary for fast responses in small caps. I suspect that responses from folks such as Paul Scott might generate some interest. The yield is 2% without the last and forecast special divis - its divi policy makes it something of a yield stock and it has enough cash to expand abroad. The joy of free cash flow! I calculate its FreeCashFlowYield as 3.7%. I increased at £3.07 yesterday. We'll see :-) apad | apad
18/1/2017 07:37 | Good company APAD - might get marked down as they have indicated no growth for 2017 (investment reasons) but that would be an opportunity to add. | hydrus
18/1/2017 07:28 | QTX rns should be enough to give the share price a modest fillip. Eminently straightforward: "Revenue for the period is anticipated to be slightly ahead of market expectations and profit is expected to be in line with expectations. The Company’s subscription base in its core fleet operations increased by 14% in the UK to over 71,000 vehicles, by 95% in the USA to more than 6,000 vehicles, and by 26% in France to just under 10,000 vehicles. Free cash-flow continued at a strong level, and the Company expects to be in a position to pay a supplementary dividend along with the final dividend The additional investment, taken together with the strategic decision to move away from low margin insurance sales means that we are now expecting to deliver 2017 results broadly in line with 2016 results. Is probably underpromise overdeliver." It's reducing low-value insurance deals (opportunity for TRAKM8)! No comment on currency effects. My view is that for a company in such a competitive sector it's performance is a tribute to its management. Growth in Europe and the States is excellent and it can pay a special divi again. I think it's growing into a position where it might well attract a significant bid premium. apad | apad
17/1/2017 20:24 | It's a hell of a lot easier than the UK, red. I sympathise. apad | apad
17/1/2017 18:53 | APAD Well done. I can imagine your frustration, but it is only 3 days away. I am currently working on reducing my Payment on Account for 2016/17 due on 31 January, before I press the button. HMRC don't seem to realize that Fixed Interest Bonds and Cash Accounts are paying a much reduced coupon year on year. I would rather have the money in my account than in theirs. Our deadline is 31 January so I have some time in hand. red | redartbmud
17/1/2017 18:43 | The market agrees with you, red. FairFX shares have rocketed - with a one day delay! apad | apad
17/1/2017 16:27 | Red. Finished my end of year company accounts and found that the Jersey software submission doesn't go on-line until the 20th! Trying to decide when is the best time to submit them. Maybe they will be most interested in whether the system is working if I get them in first :-) The deadline is July. apad | apad
17/1/2017 16:26 | Fair enough - nothing wrong with relying on instincts and like I said I've no idea if they can continue from here. They've done the easy bit in many ways and it's been profitable for investors. Happy to leave a small amount with them for now. Not a position that will change my life either way. | hydrus
17/1/2017 16:22 | They will, H. They will :-) I think my prejudices are my best investing tool. I rarely ignore them. (Serious Point). I hope I am wrong, Amazing bounce in the £/$. Glad I told my daughter to put off buying some dollars! apad | apad
17/1/2017 15:45 | More your assumption about paying themselves generously whilst keeping the company limping on....not sure why you would state such a view without actually checking. They aren't doing that - quite the opposite in fact. Low salaries and share purchases suggest they are incentivised. Whether they have the capability to create growth going forward I do not know. I can't comment on your assessment of their market opportunity in small instruments. | hydrus
17/1/2017 15:28 | APAD seems your view on SUN is based on a quick look years ago when the company had different management and different products. Sometimes I find it better not to express a view if I don't have anything useful to say........ ;)They've done well to stabilise the company and it now generates cash and profits. No idea if they can keep growth going hence why I've taken profits. Last update I'm waiting for is QTX. Still not cheap though so any hiccups could be nasty. | hydrus
17/1/2017 14:55 | Pete, I seem to remember that SUN it was a little, Leeds spin-off selling big pieces of kit to hospitals on a shoestring. They'll probably put in new management who'll keep it limping along as long as possible, whilst paying themselves generously. dacian Farn is a roulette wheel stock. Not a recommendation! Check my earlier post on my 'reasons' - should be 'whims' really. apad | apad
17/1/2017 14:38 | I hold SUN. Different management team have executed the turnaround successfully - I've already taken a good profit off the table. Now a small holding. Not particularly well sighted on how much further it can go as a business but will hold until they misstep. G4M, SAT and PVG having a good start to the year. Long term most confident in PVG. Short term who knows. For some enjoyment read the IDP thread from the last few days. | hydrus
17/1/2017 14:30 | Dacian, you wish you had kept your all of your GAW shares, as expected a special dividend | modform
