04/3/2017 10:03 | Just been through the trading statement. Provides comfort over the top line and agree with the comments above that it might be difficult at the moment to agree what is continuing operations vs discontinued and hence the lack of comments on profitability. Regarding the cash position, obviously great that it increased to E3m however should just caution that they had 2.6m net cash last June if you include available for sale assets, net of similar liabs. Nevertheless, it suggests that they're probably profitable and with pure cash now equivalent to 25% of the market cap, it provides a lot of downside protection. Looking back at my post 606 on this board following a meeting with management, if they hit their rule of thumb turnover of 100k per employee next year then 20m is achievable, which would probably deliver 2p - 3p EPS? Given the comfort of the cash position and upside from the spin-off, the downside seems limited from here, though given the share price has fallen a lot, I would hope the downside would be limited! I'm continuing to hold - I try to stick of a rule of 'if in doubt, do nothing' Adam | adamb1978
03/3/2017 16:26 | a pretty insipid share price response imo to such an upbeat, albeit brief statement. The chart looks horrible and I'm happy get out at this point. Best of luck to the faithful holders. | shrout
03/3/2017 12:47 | Pays not to always panic sell like some did at 15p when the chart looks iffy, crashing charts do not always say bad news is coming | tradermick1
03/3/2017 10:31 | I imagine the deals were signed late in Feb and could not be released until early March after Feb Sales figures confirmed. | zipstuck
03/3/2017 09:31 | I'd also have liked a little more info in the t/s especially since we've had little info since Nov 2016. Delighted though with underlying growth & cash generation. Puts to bed the unfounded comments on this thread over need for a further fundraise. Rivaldo makes valid points & I hope we'll get further info by the end of March by which time the Integuemen IPO should have been finalised. Kind regards GHF | glasshalfull
03/3/2017 09:29 | One of the worst so called updates I have ever seen. The lack of information is breathtaking. Couldn't trust any management team that released something like this. | trier1
03/3/2017 09:17 | It does it for me. Well done to the patient. I doubt we'll see 15.5p again. | chadders
03/3/2017 09:14 | Nice to finally get belated reassurance - but it's a pity they did not issue this a month ago which they could have unless there were major revenue recognition issues, which I would not think there would be in this sort of business. Strong start on orders this year bodes well and hopefully this should look very cheap indeed once the results are out. | pentangle
03/3/2017 09:09 | Short & sweet & still no idea why it took so long to update shareholders. Good luck to all who hold. | cocker
03/3/2017 08:54 | That's given me an image of someone hitting a large red 'buy' button and shouting across a room ;-) | yump
03/3/2017 08:45 | Sales up more than 60% to €18mln, cash position of €3mln, strong start to 2017. Mkt cap only £12m. I added aggressively at the open. | aishah
03/3/2017 08:41 | Excellent update generated good cash flow in 2nd half. New year started very strongly | zico01
03/3/2017 08:24 | Riv those are good points, but how easy would it have been for management to simply explain that instead of the perfunctory single paragraph. | paleje
03/3/2017 08:17 | Good trading update, with revenues bang on expectations for last year. And the business is evidently continuing to thrive given the 5.7m euros of orders already booked this year. An update on EBITDA as per last year would have been preferable, but I suspect that discussions with auditors as to what to separate out above and below the line for Innovenn etc will go to the wire for the year end dependent on what happens and when with Integumen. It won't be long before we get an update for Integumen, so at that point no doubt the year end figures will be finalised. | rivaldo
03/3/2017 08:07 | Well done to those who did not sell, unlike me, albeit I have no idea what to make of today's RNS. | shanklin
03/3/2017 08:05 | You can imagine if this was a company where investors were banging on about revenue growth, there would be great excitement about £5.7mln booked early in 2017. But its not a change the world cloud tecchie bigdata business. | yump
03/3/2017 07:57 | Yes, they could say meet or not meet or something about exceptionals. Last year the update mentioned EBITDA. Presumably they're still working on it - perhaps there are complications arising from the sale - goodwill etc., although that should be pretty mundane stuff for accountants. At least revenue seems to be growing fast. Can't do much about profits without that. Of course saying they will make some PBT, doesn't mean its a significant amount, as its clear that they are only just getting towards it. Perhaps we'll get the usual response on the boards with a load of doom and gloom if they don't make £1 profit, but then when they do make something significant, another load of posters will turn up quoting 400% growth in profits, forgetting that level of growth is mathematically certain when just moving into profit ! | yump
03/3/2017 07:55 | Generating cash | zipstuck
03/3/2017 07:54 | Dunno it's almost as if given grudgingly, compare it to last year's. | paleje
03/3/2017 07:52 | Sales seem to be in line but profitability? Huh? | wjccghcc
03/3/2017 07:51 | A 5 year old could have written that RNS. | investordave
03/3/2017 07:42 | Why no mention of profitability? | spooky
03/3/2017 07:33 | RNS update, short and to the point. 2016 represented another year of strong growth for Venn with sales in excess of EUR18m (2015 EUR11m). The business finished 2016 with a strong cash position of EUR3m (EUR1.75m 30 June 2016). The strong momentum enjoyed by the business in 2016 has continued into 2017 todate, with new business contracts signed to the value EUR5.7m in the first two months of the year. | paleje
01/3/2017 11:25 | Shall I post a list of shares where I bought at a low and then made 50% ? Or a list of shares where I bought near a high and then lost 50% ? The lack of information is the issue, combined with worry. The chart reflects that, its not a sign of anything announced concerning the business. | yump
01/3/2017 09:36 | Very incisive. | chadders |
