Worth noting too that following Royal ascent of the July Finance Bill (due sometime in October), SMEs such as Venn (which have buy and build growth strategies) will no longer be able to raise money though equity issues from VCTs or EIS investors.


The two main shareholders in Venn are Living Bridge (Baronsmead VCTs) and Calculus (EIS funds).


So for them (and Venn) it was probably the case of let's raise the money whilst we still can.

Today's placing was to raise funds for the major acquisition which increases the size of the company by around 50%.

VENN had €1m net cash at 30th June, so given the now ongoing profitability had no need for further monies except for expansion - as per today..

I listened to the interview CEO does not want to dilute the stock while shareprice remains undervalued so no placing at current levels if they are sticking by his words.

The normal story on AIM, the loyal shareholders get offered nothing,
but i surpose we can by more at 25p

I was offered the opportunity to subscribe to some EIS qualifying shares at 22p through one broker that I use frequently, so I went for a small nibble, but I was allocated ziltch.

I suspect the existing VCT shareholders (Baronsmead among others) hoovered up all of the EIS/VCT qualifying shares which were available.

Yep, excellent stuff:

- good H1 results and very confident outlook for a profitable H2
- acquisition at 23p and oversubscribed placing at 22p
- Kinesis Pharma already makes historic €0.6m EBITDA so is nicely earnings enhancing

No reason why the share price shouldn't continue to advance from here imo.

FWIW a Golden Cross (50 and 200 day SMA) was completed on the chart about a week ago

VENN is a bit of a slow burner, but everything looks to be lined up and facing in the right direction, so I'm very hopeful the potential will be fulfilled here.

13 August Trading update - strong first half - note interims are on 22nd September. share price on 12th August was 20p - today it is 23p.

Trading update

Venn Life Sciences (AIM: VENN), a growing Clinical Research Organisation (CRO) providing clinical trial management and resourcing solutions to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device clients, announces a strong first half of 2015 with the Company billing in excess of €4m, up 170% against the same period in 2014 (H1: €1.5m).

The Company has demonstrated continued growth throughout 2015 driven by contract wins amounting to over €9m in the period to 30 June 2015.

Commenting on the figures, Venn CEO, Tony Richardson said: "Our fee income figures highlight the steady and consistent growth of the Company year on year with both repeat business and organic growth contributing to our excellent results and ability to win projects internationally. Our market continues to grow steadily and with a healthy pipeline of prospects we are well positioned to deliver further growth."

Venn will announce its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2015 on the 22 September 2015.

Do you have any feedback on copying the LSE system for filtering other posters
where you do not see anything. It is a total must for this bb otherwise you are
going to lose custom.
