Wow. BTL update shows value of VELA shareholding up £327k since last BTL update a month ago, equivalent to a 1/3rd of VELA market cap.

I did raise my eyebrows at the effectively risk free return to Mr Scott. Given the double secured nature of the bond, a 10% coupon does seem a bit high too.

"from those figures this is undervalued by at least 100% I'd say"

Why, daicaprice? I realise that there is a discount of around 60% to net assets here, and I have thought on occasion that this is too high and considered a purchase. However, many investment funds which are much more liquid than this one trade at half NAV. Your assertion that it is 100% undervalued implies that VELA should be trading near to asset value. Why should this be the case, especially given that they invest in unquoted, volatile and illiquid investments?

Bond issue with guaranteed 10% over 3 years for a further investment in Portr, from those figures this is undervalued by at least 100% I'd say.

Problem for vela is the lack of visibility of the progress being made by their investments.

Airportr on the face of it sounds like it is getting considerable traction, but we likely won't know until September/October time when they have to file their annual accounts. Last year's accounts don't reflect the business that airportr have been doing during 2016, so it's difficult to really gauge how well they're progressing.

Btl is a little easier, since they're quoted, and actually, they seem to be doing rather well at the moment - already generating revenue,so eitheron track against their business plan,or even slightly ahead of it.

Their other business however, have much less visibility.

Anyone heard much about how vibe is getting along for instance?

I suppose the real catalyst for vela, is if either / both of Btl and airportr get bought out/ float, respectively....

Further investment in Portr through issue of bonds, they certainly like Portr.

Ianrossbus: Should your correspondence with the registrars still be unfruitful, I suggest you write to one of the non-executive directors, even the Chairman.

Explain your position, give him your present and former address and ask if he can verify your present shareholding.

You will receive an answer.

Armed with that response, then either go back to the registrars or come back here for guidance.

Sorry its a little off topic - and down to my own stupidity !! The current registrars aren't being too helpful and whilst I have tried to look through old news reports, its not a simple task.

Can anyone explain the consolidations that have taken place.

I understand it went from DGM to Vela then changed registrars and then changed to Vela.

I put my deal certificates in the bottom drawer in December 2006, then moved house - So didn't get any updates to my new address.

I have several DGM certificates and I am trying to work out what dilutions took place and when, so that I can verify what the new registrars are saying is correct ie I only have a few shares in Vela and they are now worth next to nothing !!

Thanks in advance

Thanks Antony worth a go, will just watch for some nice size trades to go through before an RNS.
I have total faith and will be adding more VELA as funds allow.

Nice early buy this morning, I picked up 18k Rosslyn Data last week before the announcement having read up a load it does look as if it is about to come to fruition to me.
Any thoughts of a further investment at this level Antony?
