22/7/2008 08:13 | looks like someone has faith here. all the director buys has to be positive | juju43
18/7/2008 09:04 | interesting also to go onto companies house site to see that many of their subsidiaries were due to file accounts at end of February 2008 and are now overdue thereby risking companies house fines for directors. Not a good recommendation for a firm of Chartered Accountants, me wonders what they are trying to hide! | agreeable
18/7/2008 08:59 | results due next Wednesday, wonder what we will see. Lets guess, net cash generated next to nothing, debtors continuing to increase, lots of puff about recovery services. However when compared to Tenon who have negligible debt, good cash generation and solid management this will look to be a poorly run business | agreeable
04/7/2008 07:37 | Yes, I did not see the transaction details go through (1 July). It will be interesting to see at what price they bought in. The 10% fall yesterday will have been disappointing! | lapiteau
04/7/2008 07:27 | morgan taken 5% stake.should bring some confidence. this is the place to be in bad times - also BEG | juju43
02/7/2008 11:23 | Can someone post the IC article? Thanks in advance lap | lapiteau
27/6/2008 12:33 | Strong article on VTS in today's IC - recommended as good for the current difficult times. | spaceparallax
04/6/2008 15:28 | unsure lap unfortunately. i think hermes reduced the other day; possibly them reducing further ? hmmm. i still think if they are in line (and we can only believe mgment?!), looks decent value to me. chart taking a brief pause, hope not starting to roll over. results perhaps needed to cement things imho. desiring next leg up............. | value viper
04/6/2008 14:39 | Hi Value Viper Whats your view on the large transactions today (particularly in light of the recent bid speculation)? The directors can't be selling as they are in a closed period! I was wondering whether this may be some form of restructuring of shares in light of a bid? Thanks Lap | lapiteau
03/6/2008 19:46 | from their site : Vantis plc is the AIM listed UK top 13 accounting, tax and business advisory group. Our objective is to be the provider of choice for ambitious organisations (from owner-managed businesses to listed companies and not for profit organisations), high net worth individuals and other professionals. As entrepreneurs with entrepreneurial clients, Vantis is constantly finding new ways to solve business issues. We work with like-minded people who challenge the process and make a difference. We are qualified accountants and business advisers providing an innovative, flexible and commercial approach to doing business. Increasingly our clients expect to be dealing with advisers who are skilled in their industry sector. Vantis has specialist industry groups to help clients achieve their objectives, as well as individual experts across the organisation who can meet the needs of clients outside these sectors. My suspicion is stock is oversold as AIM listed and carrying net debt at £31.5 million. However recently turned down an approach, directors have been buying shares and with in line results to come, assume the debt is being serviced with no problems. On a multiple to earnings metric, not overly expensive and I would hope they are seeing solid demand for their advisory services despite challenging times. Roll on the share price recovery ! Thought a new thread might be of use to existing and to be shareholders. | value viper
29/5/2008 10:03 | begbies flying should have given this a kick although it has been overbought | juju43
28/5/2008 21:14 | yep - interesting | juju43
28/5/2008 15:25 | Big buys going through - Institution? Price flat - any thoughts? lap | lapiteau
22/5/2008 07:07 | Not sure Juju, an institution could easily acquire batches of 25k over a month or two, not always that much VTS stock around (and to buy in say millions might move the price against institutions). Overall given recent wider market conditions a strong trading statement, like you I thought this bit was particularly impressive, (don't think people could reasonably have expected any more given recent financial crisis). Looks as though VTS have actually held up better than most: '........Cash inflow from operating activities is significantly ahead in H2 2008 compared with the first half, as a result of substantial improvements in working capital management. Net bank debt at 30 April 2008 amounted to £31.5 million, comfortably below market estimates. Total banking facilities remain at £44 million.....' | egoi
22/5/2008 06:57 | not big enough to be insts. good news on the debt situation.given a decent market this should see more gains | juju43
21/5/2008 13:58 | Looks like buys of 24, 25 and 50k today. Institutional trust, confidence and support, returning? | egoi
20/5/2008 18:49 | Seems to me gap up to 170p then 210p, might be a brief pause around 150. If any shorters are still out there they're just frittering it away now imho - doing a good Nero impression! | egoi
20/5/2008 17:49 | juju43 - fingers had a look at vts on his charting thread sunday. regards | targatarga
20/5/2008 08:08 | 'ere we go. lots more to come here | juju43
16/5/2008 18:43 | chart suggesting strong up move soon | juju43
16/5/2008 10:32 | always nice to see a buyer paying above the ask.... | targatarga
13/5/2008 11:36 | due another uptick? | targatarga
12/5/2008 14:20 | Thanks for the thoughts and info. I'm pretty much in agreement and have gone in with another 5k today. Ding | dinger74
12/5/2008 14:18 | I agree Egoi - I think a steady rise toward the prelims due in July. With net current assets about 12 Million I don't see a short term working capital issue. Dinger - As the majority of shares are ownd by board members, I have to agree that the offer was probably much higher than the current price. You have to remember this peaked 16 months ago at 2.78 (I believe). The board will feel understandibly that it can retrace the decline and more (fundamentals haven't changed, yet the economy has and their business model is poised to exploit - business recovery and personal debt management in particular imo).
