"The only issue at the moment is the lack of newsflow.", Bursar.

Then how come you know everything is fine and dandy at Vanco?

I'm sure you're aware that an inside view of a company is very different to an outside shareholders view.

Did the source also comment on the recent director buys or the fact that Q4 is historically Vanco's strongest trading period or the headroom allowed in their facilities or the last trading statement which was positive?

I agree. I spent 6 years in this industry some time ago and there is a real problem of what costs do you capitalise and what expense.
It is not a game for amall undercapitalised players as your competitors can wipe you out knowing your weak position should you lose a key contract.

Bursar....you may or may not be correct that the info is "a load of tosh"....however one of the reasons people post on these boards is to "share" info......whether you choose to listen or not is your choice.....however I have known my source for a few years now and he has worked at a fairly senior level within the telecoms industry for many years.....now I am not suggesting that it is absolute fact....but when he gave me his view on Vanco he had no clue that I was holding their shares.....so he had no axe to grind!!......I hope that his thoughts/info are proven wrong for those who hold.......my original view was to hold for a recovery to £3+.......but his info together with the Downgrade to "sell" from Numis with no forecasts last week altered my stance.......I held 50000 shares and was in profit.......but good luck to you!!

What a load of tosh from the rumour mill and the origin is an unsubstantiated source who works in the industry. That speaks volumes.

The only issue at the moment is the lack of newsflow.

As I see it the company's cash flow is seriously weak.

Back at interims time the auditors expressed a favourable opinion on the balance sheet as a going concern (yes at interims time).....no smoke without fire.

I've called the company up and the lady said Vanco is trading strongly and there's always rumours after rumours.

Well I sold my final holding this morning...phew!!.......I bumped into a friend of mine who works in the industry (not for Vanco).....his view is that they are about to lose one of their major contracts......he also said that this customer has "nothing good to say about Vanco"!......the final nail in the coffin for me was when he suggested that he had heard from an employee of Vanco that their sales people were not being paid at the moment.......now that is all rumours and speculation I know....but it was enough for me to take profits and I'm going to watch from the sideline at the moment........his other views seemed to match thoughts that I've read in earlier posts that Van was right when the Telco's were just trying to survive and were happy to do "sweet" deals to gain some revenue stream from their investments.....times have changed.........this is obviously just my opinion....but in today's market I'm staying out for the time being....good luck all holders.....if they sign the remaining 2 outstanding accounts I'm sure you'll see a rapid re-rate back to the £2 mark!!

I was gonna buy at 160, but it fell right through it. I'm hoping for a buy at the high 140's here.

Well I for one don't have a clue why it's dropped!? Hope it doesn't continue. I would have thought we would be past £2.00 by now, not stalling around these sort of levels. Anyone shed any light?

Chris It's only my short term target. We might find it tricky passing 200p

I only do short term targets I never think long term so 180p wis my short term target for 2 weeks....When it hits 180p I will re study the graph movements and decide from there,

Excellent post. Thanks. I am sure this will fly to £3.00 soon.

The target is nearer to £3.50 than £1.80......this stock is currently on a projected p/e of 7 to year ending Jan 08 and the company have confirmed results are currently in line with those forecasts. It then lowers to a p/e of 5 for the year ending Jan 09.....when the target should be £4.50 (imho!). It is the cash flow that has pulled this share down......but it is growing rapidly and has confirmed it has sufficient cash to continue that growth......the markets are expecting interest rate cuts to be announced ....so that will lower the costs of their borrowing and if they sign the 2 outstanding contracts talked about in the trading update then net debt will fall anyway....and they have indicated that they expect to do that prior to year end!

At some time.......nearly 8 million shares will need to be bought back.....imagine what that could do for the price if we have no sellers......in the last analysts presentation the company catagorically stated that they would not be going to the market for further funds as they are more than fully funded....i.e. no rights issue and the directors have confirmed in the same presentation that there would be no further share sales from their holdings.........so my guess is yes it could well be positive!

There is now about 12.5% of shares on loan..(which equates to over 30% of free float on loan!!!!!)..when this starts to close it will most certainly prove to be an interesting time!!!!

Looks like we may be returning to an uptrend with Vanco, it would help if the major markets decide to stop falling.

Hope some of you took my OVG tip from Wednesday you would be up 30% by close today. Reckon with the up coming newsflow there is plenty more to come :-) ADYOR

MM's took it down too much and they see a demand for buys in the longer run most likely,

Glad to see its held well ;) so far 7% rise if I was still in,

That's exactly what I was thinking chrisc168! Still nobody can offer an explanation for how the price held up so well yesterday given the sea of red!
