Anyone know what's the cause for the fall? This one keeps tanking on a consistent basis on no volume. Bit concerning isn't it?

I sold on wednesday at 1.76, but I needed to raise some cash and it was more by luck that good judgement. Big drop on small volume. I may buy back in next week.

CARP ! Did I miss something in the Trading statement or ? I saw it as a positive 3rd quarter report, if a little under-stated anyone beg to differ. Did the MM's expect something more substantial, I am stuffed if I know apart from I am now nursing a loss. Hey Ho!

A long term investor understands that volatility in the share price is often unrelated to underlying business value. Unless you have to sell you are usually better advised to wait until the share price matches the business value. I don't think there is anything out today to suggest that VANs business has changed....

Also they didn't exactly explain things well in their statement iMHO. In fact their actual increase Q on Q is very impressive. agreed, should be worth at lest £3 according to some of the best analysts. Panic not!

The drop is on very small volume at the moment.......the company have confirmed forecasts and further contract wins....cash burn whilst not ideal has slowed.....the stock is currently on a forward p/e of just over 7 for the end of this year falling to just over 5 for next......imvho this should be priced currently at about £3 per share rising to about £4.50 next financial year.....but with the markets a little jittery at the moment it will need to be a hold for the longer term.....aimho!

Well I don't believe this drop. What's more is I haven't been disciplined in sticking with my stop of 175. Seeing as I bought in at 200 I'm feeling a little upset at the moment to say the least. :(

Not an easy climate to be on the road to recovery in! However, support at these levels would be encouraging and then we can make an assault on 200 again...a break through 200 would firmly establish the up trend and be another major buy signal for short term traders - IMO...

I wonder if people are selling on the back of the trading statement released today? Maybe the fact that the expectations are only "in line" has had a negative effect? Also no news that the two outstanding contracts have been signed. Not sure which way this is gonna go if I'm honest. Stop at 175 anyhow.

hmmm! not sure about that! at least the trading statement this am was in line. They have employed a telecoms analyst to liaise with the market and I think that might help keep the market better informed of progress....

Virtual Network Operator Vanco Enables Most Northerly Video Message Ever
05 Nov 2007 - 16:07

NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--Vanco ( , the pioneering Virtual Network
Operator, announced that it has transmitted the most northerly live
video message ever, now viewable at
( The Vanco Arctic Survey
team ( led by polar explorer and
environmentalist Pen Hadow, ventured for two hours north of the
Arctic's Eureka Weather Station to a point 80.0 degrees North to make
the historic video transmission for the Ice Trials which precedes
their main journey in February 2008 to determine how long an ice cap
will remain around the North Pole.
The video footage was transmitted Friday from the Arctic Ocean at
1903 GMT, using the Vanco Arctic Survey's pioneering satellite
communications system. Due to the severe limitations imposed by a lack
of satellite coverage over the High Arctic regions, it took 18 minutes
before this short video transmission was received by the UK Operations
team.
Vanco developed and integrated the technology involved, ensuring
the entire communications set up operated smoothly. Six analogue phone
lines were installed and tested for data transmission before their
direct dial numbers were logged onto the Central Data Processor (on
the Vanco Arctic Survey sledge) to enable 6-way automatic dial-up and
data transmission. A router (in the UK HQ) combines the six separate
data sets into one file, these are then re-assembled and viewed via a
laptop. Large file transmission is not a problem - the system has been
designed to redial if there is a temporary Iridium satellite
gap/drop-out during transmission.
Allen Timpany, Vanco's CEO, said, "We are proud to have achieved
this record. Combining multiple technologies from a range of
innovative companies is exactly what Vanco does day-to-day for its
enterprise clients, so this was an exciting chance to push the
boundaries of the technology at our disposal. The success of this
initial transmission during the Ice Trials, which precede Pen and the
team's main journey next year, bodes well for our plans to conduct a
video conference at the North Pole itself. As the world's most global
telecommunications company, it will be great to tick another location,
in which we have successfully delivered communications services, off
our list."

Held up very nicely just as I predicted. I reckon it will test 200 next week and once through it won't be long before we reach 250.

No, no what I'm saying is that although it's dropped due to the FTSE being red I've no doubt, as yesterday, it will recover by the end of play.
