Thanks Calm - all quiet today here - but looks like there could be a buy order in the background. Even with all sells so far the MM are willing to take 250,000 shares at a 5.61.

I think you guys are overthinking it...

The Board now see that the turnaround is complete and legacy issues (including bottom of the oil price) is behind the company.
Consequently they have either bought shares (Shrager purchased nr 2million shares whilst the shareprice was languishing below 4p) or awarded themselves performance related share bonus's (sadly the terms not being transparent).

The board are now consequently motivated to increase the shareprice or increase the EBITA and so are marketing the company accordingly (more frequent RNS's, a development plan for all assets, presentations and broker notes/roadshow presentations to come followed by development drilling, jvs for exploration drilling etc etc).

If the shareprice doesn't increase accordingly with the efforts above they will still reward themselves with bonus shares (which are not linked to the shareprice) and will benefit from high yield dividends (assuming the operational work mentioned above generates strong EBITA).

I strongly disagree that Adler are interested in buying the company outright (they are an investment vehicle for a banker) however that doesn't mean another larger E&P Russian company may snap up Urals especially if reserves/production are firmed up but the shareprice doesn't increase accordingly.

Adler buying company...they dont need to...Company intends to pay divs very soon..and this is from their growing EBITDA so Adler can sit back watch share price grow and get an increased div every year IMHO

I'm sure many of us think yes there is. BUT, why didn't they do so last year when it was 2p? Shvets would have known where this is going long before us.

The short answer is what do we know, we would be the last to know.

'Adler represents the interests of Roman Shvets, a Russian banker and industrialist with investments in the oil sector.The Russia-focused oil and gas exploration and production company said that Adler Impex now holds 112.6 million shares in Urals, an increase to 44.59% of its total share capital, from 25.08% previously. Shvets could not immediately comment on the stake increase to Alliance News, but Urals said that Adler Impex remains supportive of its management and strategy.'

Adler is just an investment vehicle for Shvets. We have to assume he is still supportive of the BOD until it is proved otherwise. Although I suspect if someone made Shvets a good offer for his 44% he may consider it. He is the key but he is not the BOD.

That RNS today was a little unusual, 'responding to some shareholder enquiries about funding' IMO the presentation raises more questions than answers. Your 'control of the sp' just does not add up when they issue such a presentation making the case on how undervalued they are compared to their peers.

Who was that presentation pitched at ? Definitely not pi's, they are not the key to the Co realising a better share price

I still await with interest any 'holding RNS' and as mentioned previous 'holding' notifications have only been made when they had completed the purchase. Adler jumped from 25% to 45% buying in the open market and made no announcement until they had completed.

One interesting point from the presentation was

"Modelling and assessment of possible fracking effect on production level subject to favorable market conditions"

Given that the possible use of Hydraulic Fracturing to enhance the Oil Recovery at Arcticneft is not really viable at current oil price in Russia (given high MET/Export taxs) I'm surprise it is even been mentioned - unless there is a significant expected increase in daily production or Urals have identified a partner who can carry out Fracking at Arcticneft at a much lower cost then the norm. So this could be very positive if is the case

Good to see all 2017 plans are fully funded with existing cash flow - that will include all planned workovers at P&A and drilling at South Dagi and Komi.
