A PSC isn't going to be "awarded" until late 2025 at the latest. PETROS have told us:

“Upon completion of the feasibility study in Aug 2024, a full e-FTG survey over Block SK334 is envisaged in second half of 2025.”

From:

They've also stated:

“This will then enable PETROS to offer Block SK334 for competitive bidding to all interested investors.” [my bold]

And hence UPL will need to find cash to bid for Block SK334.

However, *IF* UPL hasn’t spent any cash since 31 Dec 2023 (the last results date) then, allowing for funds raised since, they would currently have a maximum of £4m of cash. By the end of 2025, after normal cash burn, they will be lucky if they have £2m of cash left to bid with.

That means either:

A. UPL will need to raise yet more funds so that they have a decent amount of cash with which to make a successful bid, or

B. Block SK334 is not worth bidding for and no one else wants it, hence £2m will be enough to win the bid.

Either way it looks poor for UPL, which has looked like a stinking cess pit ever since the directors implemented the fake takeover scam in October last year.

The codger - I do believe a PSC will be granted well before August 2025 and the price will multi-bag. However what I say remains true. All the director buying looks like desperation. Why were they not buying like this prior to the Petros article.

PSC to move along now that Sarawak has secured the continental shelf and everything below it?

I have been checking out what's been going on in Sarawak of late and came across an news announcement from this morning.

"KUCHING (Aug 5): Sarawak has reached an agreement regarding the rights and authority to manage and use land on the continental shelf in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has said."

Now read this article, note the bits about oil and gas:

Then read this article (right to the bottom of the page as it looks like there's two articles but it's actually one)
"Sarawak is insisting that oil and gas resources in its territory must be regulated under a colonial-era Oil Mining Ordinance 1958, which stipulates that oil and gas resources found within 200 nautical miles of its waters belong to the state. "

Sarawak State Government was obviously prioritising getting the continental shelf and everything underneath it within 200 nautical miles.

They are now free to deal with other things and we are waiting on their decision to award us a PSC. I think our PSC will now move along.

Maybe todays news on the continental shelf was behind some of the bigger buys today for that reason.

Don't waste your time arguing with trolls any more, the update to this site now means that if you filter them you don't even see their name or their hidden post, you see nothing apart from:

This means that troll posts can be completely ignored, as they can no longer trash the board with hundreds of posts in a day, because when you filter them you don't see any of those hundreds of posts, effectively the trolls no longer exist, so please filter them and stop replying to them.

Anyone replying to trolls, with this site update they have become the only ones ruining the discussion of UPL. I won't start filtering those people yet, but if they persist in pointless conversations with trolls then I will just have to filter them too.

Getting rid of troll posts is a huge win for long term shareholders, grab it with both hands.
