Careful boys. Don't sell for cheap. Disreputable broker told me FCA Investments are circling for a bidding war. I suspect circling because one leg is shorter than the other. GLA

I predict a bid from SEC within the allowed time limit, at a higher price of 18p, hence I have taken a position. 3x this price for a smallish short term punt is worth the bet imvho. This bid could also wake up other companies including existing project partners, which brings up the possibility of a bidding war.

Put Tower Resources (TRP) on your watchlist

That could do an Uplands style rise

For those just tuning in. Truant is massively short. He was short at 3p, so with the share price now double that he is goosed and very desperate. Pray for him. :-)

iceagefarmer: there is no offer:

"an unsolicited, very preliminary approach regarding a possible offer for Upland at an indicative price of 14p"

A week from now they will have to publish their accounts which will show:

* no revenue but plenty of costs
* net assets of less than 0.2p a share
* dangerously low on cash
* not much more

so time is running out to sucker in retail punters

Interesting. Bidder is Chinese at the same time as a Chinese company is building a huge refinery in the same area...

I'd have thought that any bidder would have just bought the stock in the open market until they had a huge holding, then make the bid. This is what often happens, as it saves a load of money on the deal, having bought X percent of the company at much lower prices. So I just find it very odd that SEC have just popped up out of the blue with an offer way way above the market price. What do they know that we don't, and why the urgency to get the bid in rather than take time to accumulate first?

How do you know they'd be mad to turn down 14p until you get more info on the block? 14p is a first cheeky attempt, the co and the bidder can value this better than the market. Next bid in the 20s probably also rejected, wouldn't be surprised if it also draws out competition
