Hi doughty, 121 may be too classy as you say. But, the "revised cost estimate" for the drill at Wick may include all the finer trimmings that 121 brings!

I'm switching off now, and just waiting for news from the doc! He'll want to get this going as much as we do!

Shares - since you're pretty impressive at checking Soulsauce's ADVFN posts, should be a piece of cake to check back on mine ;-)

But to save you the effort, someone earlier this month posted a link to FWM's CAR application, in which the preferred rig was specified. All the information, including the 2 months notification, comes from that document (the SEPA notification wouldn't be RNS-worthy, but FWM said that the document would be confirmed or updated approx 2 months before spud, once the spec of the contracted rig were known, and the latter presumably would be if they took the trouble to notify the market about the preceding LOI)

The Ensco fleet report is available on its website - I think it's published quarterly

Doughty - you're right, it's a bit shiny for a wee toot of a well like 11/24b-D. But if it's idle, and Corallian (or FWM) only has a 2-well program, there might be a deal to be done

Divmad - no, I wasn't countermanding the CEO's recent statement, though you're right that spud dates slip rather than advancing. What I was suggesting is that if it were indeed a Sept spud, then it wasn't looking like it would be the ENSCO 72, though that was the expectation in the FWM document.

Hope that clarifies it

True. I just took it that it was a known. I guess we're all just getting a bit too excited. News will come when it's ready.

I thought that the 121 was too classy and therefore too expensive for this close to shore drill ?

I'm still thinking it could be Ensco121. She's still sat in Dundee dock. Atlantic Kestrel, one of the boats that towed her there is sat tied up, just up the coast in Montrose. I don't know, maybe they are just waiting for the shout. We'll find out when the time is right.

Spangle,
You said in a previous post it would be first choice?
Can you clarify who from the company said this??

Who ever said it was Ensco 72 ?

It seems to me that if there are 7 jobs between April and September then we are obviously the last job and there could be some slippage. It would be good to know if everything is still on schedule.

Dr.S said September...but that could be an "oil business" September !And never forget how good the Wick prospect actually is !...250MBLS in shallow water...UOG awarded two licences today...chasing 16MBLS in mid north sea !

I think that's a fair question and one
the company could answer?
If they're stating drilling by Sept 30th,
then the prep for that hiring a rig should
be anytime now!!
I'm not sure about spangle 2months bit though,
Confirmation of this timeline could be clarified
by the company itself in order to settle nerves.
I suggest you ring the company and ask them
about this as there could be a simple explanation

So you are saying no September drill for the Wick prospect, spangle.

According to the Ensco fleet report, "The jack-up rig Ensco 72 awarded a seven-well contract with Petrofac in the UK North Sea that is expected to begin in April and complete in September this year." Petrofac has many different activities in the UK sector for which a rig might be required, not just drilling, so I can't find which well it's on so far, and of course we don't know where this current well is on the sequence. There's always a risk of program drift

Also, the FWM document to SEPA (updated with clarifications 2 weeks later) says As previously stated, FWM will inform SEPA once a rig has been formally contracted (likely to be two months prior to drilling operations commencing) and, if necessary, updated information on the rig will be provided at this time. I can't find anything to say that FWM has yet contracted ENSCO 72 (the latest fleet report by Ensco was mid-July and that didn't mention the 72), or indeed any other rig if the 72 isn't going to be available in a timely manner.

So maybe we're a bit previous in searching on that rig

Ah I see your problem now. It seemed to suggest you could search for it on that map. Perhaps it needs refreshing or something. It must be there somewhere as it's been commissioned since June.

Another good day folks!
I see a few buys at 4p and over,
that's a good signal, just waiting
for the news and volume to continue
to pick up and we will be away.

I don't think this will hang around these
levels for too much longer and in
my view a bit of a step up to the next
level will be done sharply.
The exciting thing is it's a open road
😉

Volume is too low just at the moment. MM's are happy to play at this level as there are still one or two sellers about to balance the books. We need a high volume day to the buy side to break through the 4.2 barrier.
