False alarm, no RNS -the operator is still looking in the hole,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I some how doubt Kuwait Energy will flag the news, their website is way out of date - it still has Rockhopper as a partner !!

Oh well back to waiting and watching the share price collapse back to 3p I guess.

We've seen it all before.

From memory it was an Egyptian Govt minister who released the El Salmiya-5 well results then UOG hastily issued a mid - morning RNS.

Tintin - you also have to consider materiality.

For UOG, ASH-3 is a big news item, that can directly affect the share price (let's assume! ;-)

For Kuwait Energy, a big subsidiary of an even bigger organisation, is ASH-3 going to make ripples enough to inform United Energy shareholders. I'd guess not. Plus they are the operator, so they dictate when snotty 22% equity holders can release news.

Not saying you are incorrect but there are other factors beyond timezones. One test would be whether United Energy RNS'd about ASH-2 before Brian did.

I see from the Boil RNS they have relinquished some Dorset licences. I wonder if we have done the same or is Brian still going to kid us on there is some value in them?

Interesting Tintin.. possible that someone knows, but equally possible that as we all know the odds of success with this drill are very high and the results will be known shortly so people may with good reason try to buy now. Either way its nice to see a long overdue rise and hopefully it will continue.

For those that might be interested, I have done a bit of digging with regards to Abu Sennan, Western Desert and the partners involved.

Kuwait Energy a subsidiary of United Energy Group(China) quoted on the HK stock exchange


Global Connect Ltd a private company in oil field services owner by Sherif Foda who seems well connected.



AND

Dover Investment are an affiliate of Dover Petroleum Corp - a Canadian quoted company who also operate in support services - can't track their website down !!

It's possible that Kuwait Energy via United Energy (HK) might be the first to report results from ASH-3 - the Hong Kong exchange is eight hours ahead of us, not that it will make any real difference.

A right old eclectic mix of interests !

Myn0k - If you look at the graph since it started trading again, it has had more false starts than a nervous sprinter.

I wouldn't rule out you being able to add to your sub 3p purchases

Great to see this movement happening at last. I am kicking myself as I opted to top up another holding of mine yesterday over this one. "It'll drop below 3p again, I'll buy then". famous last words eh. Anyway, onwards and upwards, reach of the stars, bish bash bosh, bobs your uncle, woo!

We know from before that news can be a bit leaky from t'egypt. I wonder if being updip there will be more gas than oil?

I believe that is the first time in ages that UOG have finished on the day's high, there was some selling into the rise, but it would seem that the MM's were happy to keep the share price at a five month high, could be news is just around the corner on ASH-3.

Can't wait to see what "transformational" actually looks like,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
