If an M-class flare (or worse) were to be fired in our direction, the implications could prove somewhat problematic, to say the least. Such a powerful outburst would be more than capable of knocking-out localized electrical grids, just as occurred in Quebec in 1989 (more on that linked below).

Best thing they could do is stop pumping money into the UK and all the hassle with its laws and by-laws.Sell Horse hill and concentrate on Turkey or some other far flung dictatorship,make a few quid.Hire someone who has more interest in their job than himself and his over inflated ego and extravagant wages and can actually deliver a deal,not some pie in the sky idea he is going to solve the UK energy crisis,delivering 100 bopd.
