18/1/2019 17:55 | kemche, I've been thinking about the potential of the "Gatwick Gusher 40° API Crude" brand. I mean, put it alongside all the generic white label "oil" in the market and tell me UKOG doesn't have significant pricing power! But I also think UKOG would do well to exploit the power of the brand for another reason. I think it should transport every barrel of oil it produces literally in a barrel, these barrels being emblazoned with the UKOG logo, a Union Jack, and "Gatwick Gusher 40° API Crude" in a flaming typeface. These barrels to be transported on open trucks, making them highly visible to the general public. I think the second part of the brand strategy should be not to restrict deliveries to Hamble but to send these UKOG barrel-carriers to terminals the length and breadth of the country, and also Scotland. This national and international visibility of the brand would raise UKOG's profile in the public consciousness considerably. What of the cost? you may ask. Well, I believe the payback could be substantial. Think of all the potential investors who would see the branding and think, "Hang on, this UKOG is the real deal." The share-buying could easily push the price back to its previous highs and enable current shareholders to vamoosh with a profit or at least not a loss. Worth trying I'd have thought, if SS has shareholders' interests at heart. | henchard

18/1/2019 15:45 | Well done Henchard, I thoroughly enjoyed your answers. The questions seemed to come from someone slightly dim | gismo
18/1/2019 15:27 | datait2, as kemche doesn't appear to be around to do so, let me try and answer your points (my answers in bold): its a commodity product, oil, ukog cannot set the price!!! heres 2, it has no brand power, its a generic product. This is Gatwick Gusher 40° API crude, if that's not brand power I don't know what is. heres 3 , it is a costly capital intensive industry. With most oil companies I would agree, but UKOG has the team to drill, test and produce from wells better than anyone else, with virtually no capital intensity. heres 4, it has depreciating machinery. I think it hires machinery - and even if it owns some, maybe that new wheelbarrow that was at BB, it doesn't own much. heres 5, it has depleting wells, Who doesn't? But I'd wager UKOG's wells deplete less than most. Probably top-quartile. heres 6, the ceo has no shares in ukog. He has millions of options but is selflessly waiting for the right time to exercise them in a manner that best aligns him with ordinary shareholders. heres 7, it is drilling in a sensitive enviornmental area . The UKOG team are experts in sensitively drilling in such areas. They are considerately keeping the flow rates low and sustainable for a reduced environmental impact. heres 8,the oil industry is open to huge regulation. Oh I give up, there's no point in answering this and your other dimwitted questions. Viva UKOG! | henchard |
