08/8/2016 16:24 | A consultation seeking views on the delivery method and priorities of the Shale Wealth Fund. This consultation closes at 26 October 2016 12:00am 1.1 Exploring and developing the UK’s shale gas resources could bring substantial benefits and the government’s view is that there is a national need to develop these resources in a safe, sustainable and timely way. The Shale Wealth Fund, which could deliver up to £1 billion of funding, a proportion of which could be paid out to each community over 25 years, will ensure that the benefits of shale developments are shared by communities and regions in which the resource is developed. 1.2 The government is clear that local people should have greater control and say in decisions that affect them. More than this though, we are committed to delivering an economy that works for all, through ensuring the benefits of economic growth and investment are spread as widely as possible. That is why we are setting out our proposals for the Shale Wealth Fund. These proposals make clear that the benefits of shale will go to local people first, and individuals and communities who host developments will be directly involved in the decision making about how the tax revenues from shale are spent. full document here but unless you are interested in gas not worth reading IMO. www.gov.uk/governmen | beebong1
08/8/2016 16:13 | Never read the paper so have no idea of it's accuracy. www.theguardian.com/ Householders will have to wait at least five years for fracking payments Government says payments, capped at £10m for communities near wells, will not be made until site is up and running. The government has admitted that payments of up to £10,000 a household for living near a fracking well would not be distributed until a new site begins operating and producing gas – at least five years after exploration begins. In a consultation on the shale wealth fund published on Monday, officials said that payments would be capped at £10m for each community living near a well, over its lifetime. They also conceded that any money flowing directly to households would not happen until a full-scale fracking industry is up and running. At the weekend, Theresa May announced a modification of George Osborne’s plans to use part of the tax take from fracking to distribute to communities affected, a move that has been dismissed by environmentalists as a bribe to dampen community opposition to the technology. full article at the link above. Just more froth IMO. | beebong1

08/8/2016 10:12 | 9:33am Opec in constant talks with all members to restore stability to oil market, says Qatar's energy minister Following reports that some Opec members, including Venezuela, Ecuador and Kuwait have revived output freeze calls, Qatar's energy minister Mohammed Saleh Abdulla Al Sada has released a statement saying that the oil market is on the path to re-balancing, despite the current decline in oil prices. He added higher demand for oil is expected in the second half of the year. Al Sada also reckons the recent decline in oil prices and current market volatility is only temporary. Opec is in constant deliberations with all of its members to restore stability to the oil market, the Qatari energy minister said. | ![]() moneymunch

08/8/2016 08:02 | There's a lot more oil that lies below the Kimmeridge interval at HH and across the Weald at a depth where fracking is permitted. Conventional extraction first though. Gl ;-) | ![]() moneymunch
08/8/2016 08:02 | FRACKING IMO it's all about shale gas not shale oil. It is all about money going to people and not the local community. It won't affect UKOG in any of their licences, even Godley bridge, as all above 1200m so far. What could change is this; "The regulations ensure that the process of hydraulic fracturing can only take place below 1200 metres in specified groundwater areas (source protection zones 1), National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and World Heritage Sites." "At exploration stage, £100,000 in community benefits per well-site where fracking takes place. 1% of revenues at production will be paid out to communities." | beebong1
07/8/2016 21:34 | We know SS said that their is defo no fracking since day one.... maybe just maybe in other licenses he might one day retract that statement now that mrs T.May has given the nod in favour of fracking... a lot seems to be going on in the background red tape or not stuff is happening... never say never? | ![]() theuniversal
07/8/2016 11:46 | Lol King Canute and so you should know that you can't hold back the tide, although one wonders why you'd want to spend so much of your valuable time from a setting you describe on a share forum where you're not invested....gla holders, "upside", the order of the week. :') | ![]() moneymunch
