From what I can gather SHAREP has been giving FFWD a hard time over there.
It has just carried on soaring........
just because a firm has risen quickly doesn't necessarily mean its got ahead of itself.

I have no intention of letting Shorters frighten me out of this investment.

It's an exciting time for the company .....it's an exciting time for us!

This report from Magellan (35% owners of HH) is perhaps more relevant (my bolding):

"With respect to the Horse Hill-1 well, the recent publicly announced results of the flow tests are encouraging, but material risks remain before this well can be assessed as a producing well and reserves estimated."

"...the Special Committee believes that while the monetization of some or all of these assets should allow Magellan to continue to operate on a limited basis and satisfy its remaining financial obligations for a substantial period of time following the completion of the Exchange, none is likely to provide ongoing revenue in the near term. The Special Committee recognizes that there are risks and uncertainties involved in attempting to monetize these assets."

"The potential sale of the Company’s interests in the Weald Basin and the related settlement of its litigation with Celtique Energie would further enhance the Company’s profile by reducing the uncertainties associated with those interests."

Well the share price went down when the report was issued, so the company isn't being supported currently by it. Probably because most have seen right through it.

In my opinion this stock belongs on everyone's conviction SELL list. Once sold embark on an aggressive SHORTING strategy for optimum gains.

Summary:

UK Oil & Gas is an exciting prospect. Big onshore fields are pretty rare these days and are substantially cheaper to develop than offshore finds.
Prior to Horse Hill, the UK’s last major onshore discovery was in 1973 at Wytch Farm, a couple of miles away from Sandbanks. It remains Western Europe’s largest onshore field and has been pumping out oil since 1979, peaking at 110,000 barrels a day. It proves that big money can bemade from land-based oil fields in the UK, not just those in Texas and the Middle East.

Securing more funding will be an important next step. While all oil developments take time, money and political will to progress, the Horse Hill field could be a valuable resource for the UK.

There is still plenty to be done, such as determining the scale of recoverable oil and the best method of extraction. It’s early days, so the shares are highly speculative but could offer significant upside for the adventurous investor.

Shares are about the future.....you are quite right gismo;its potential is why the share-price is where it is.
When we get further news,in whatever form, analysts appraisal, for example, then we will have facts and figures to further emphasise this point.IMO

On the contrary, the more Ukog can acquire now, the greater shareholder value potential, not just on oil produced but also on any future prospective Oil Major's involvement. Gl ;-)

Ref: mpet

I would like to see it go on the open market to see what value mpet would be worth.

We would know then what companies think of HH and the news that is being banded around.

It's ok buying something cheap but there is going to be a lot of money required to get oil out of the ground.

Personally think it would be a bad idea and biting off more than they can handle.
Would love to see a bigger company involved.
