It would be some what ironic if Esso were keeping a close eye on developments at HH along with any other oil major prospective suitors...( as well as drilling on the wrong side of the fault line , they didn't drill into the Kimmeridge) gl ;-)

Esso undertook exploratory hydrocarbon drilling at Collendean Farm 1 approximately 1 kilometre to the north of the Horse Hill site, in 1964. Although Collendean Farm 1 encountered oil and the well was tested, it did not flow.

Modern mapping has indicated that the well missed the target and crossed to the downthrown side of the bounding fault, which defines the limit of a hydrocarbon accumulation.

There's a 1,500 dwelling housing development on the other side of Reigate Road (A217) about a 1km from Horse Hill, which has just started, an existing oil pipeline is to be redirected, taking it closer to Horse Hill if you check out the maps from the link. Maybe Ukog could come to some arrangement with Esso???? gl ;-)

Oil Pipeline

An underground oil pipeline currently runs through the
site. Work is shortly due to commence to redirect this
pipeline away from the proposed housing area. These
works will be carried out by ESSO.

China is filling its strategic petroleum reserves five times faster than last year.

A dramatic build-up in China’s strategic petroleum reserve and surging demand for imported crude oil are likely to transform the global energy markets this year, regardless of any production freeze agreed by OPEC and Russia this weekend.

Chinese credit stimulus and a 20pc rise in public spending has set off a fresh mini-cycle of growth that is already sucking in oil imports at a much faster pace than expected.

I don't think news has leaked as there was only a few big buys.
May be some have been given the heads up that the data is looking very positive or peeps taking positions ready for next week.

I think we are close now though to getting the all important reports that will catapult Ukog north.

I personally thought this would be a lot higher just on the speculation.

Still feel the market and peeps are non believers from the previous reports and also that there is always sceptics when dealing on the aim market with it being so crooked.

But hey its there loss when it hits as this will gap up if the news is verg good

News from Nutech and Xodus expected anytime now, for OIP reserves upgrade, engineering studies for horizontal well flow and reservoir engineering analyses to determine potential recoverable volumes.....signifcant upside on positive data, followed by a potential massive re-rate on publication of the Ernst and Young economic study on the multi-billion dollar potential of the Kimmeridge Interval and its national significance......the green light for all and sundry to come flooding in, including the city institutions imho......and maybe on the back of oil at $50 plus come Monday, if Sunday's meeting with Opec and friends goes well. Gla Longs ;-)
