23/3/2016 22:01 | Tullow Oil (TLW LN): Wrong News at the Wrong Time - Downgrade to Underperform Rating UNDERPERFORM (from HOLD) Price Target 166.00p Price 225.80p Key Takeaway We are increasingly concerned over operational issues at the Jubilee field which is a fundamental stock risk overriding opportunity from oil shows in a new Kenya basin. Now trading 36% above our unchanged PT and at $22/boe 2P reserves the market is once again pricing in an unwarranted premium, in our view. A lot more needs to start going right to keep these levels. Our upgrade to Hold in Sep 2015 accepted TLW trading at $19/boe 2P & $35/boe 1P reserves, both significant premiums to M&A precedent. Six months on, we see zero industry appetite for such premiums: M&A Update: Debt is the Growth Story. Price Target 166.00p | rubberbullets

22/3/2016 07:59 | 0802 GMT Oil companies are eager to hear the outcome of Monday's meeting between Kenya's President and his Ugandan counterpart over a pipeline route for crude fields in landlocked Uganda. Talks come amid heightened competition between Kenya and Tanzania over a route option for the region's largest oil fields. Total SA (TOT) has already raised the stakes after announcing a $4 billion funding to a pipeline through Tanzania. But Tullow wants a pipeline through Kenya to link up with its own fields. A pipeline deal would unlock long delayed commercialization of the oil fields. "Tullow Oil, Total and China's CNOOC -- have also been invited to the meeting," says Manoah Esipisu, spokesman for Kenya's presidency. | midasx
