I wonder if the upcoming results presentation will update us on TSTL's view of its market.

The annual results presentation given in Oct 2014 said the instrument decontamination market (i.e. not surface disinfectants) into which TSTL then sold was valued at the time at £91m.

That £91m figure was based on 15.6m annual procedures in Western Europe, 15.5m in China/Hong Kong, 1m in Russia and 460k in Australasia, and each procedure being worth £2.80.

Would be useful to know if any of those figures have changed.

Piedro -- do you think it would benefit us ordinary shareholders if Soler stepped down again from the chairmanship?

His return to the chair has certain coincided with a more upbeat results narrative, with RNS references appearing about revenue/margin targets and progress for a USA product.

True, he was non-exec chair when the business began to stumble a few years ago, but Mr Swinney surely has to share any blame going for that setback.

Soler owns close to 30% of the shares, his bio suggests he likes to sell businesses and it's not clear to me that bringing in a fresh non-exec chairman is going add much more to our cause. What have I missed?

As question time nears, a brief quote from the 2014 Annual Report...

Board change
Having served on the Board for three years, and with the business in both good health and capable hands, I feel it is the appropriate time for me to hand over the reins to a successor. I shall be stepping down from my role as Non-Executive Chairman on the 15th of October. The Board has begun a search for a new Non-Executive Chairperson, and in the meantime my predecessor Francisco Soler will take over the role on an interim basis.

I have written to Paul Swinney suggesting an announcement ...

ProFormance™ Cleaning Verification - EndoCheck

Clean Inside a Scope with EndoCheck™
Flexible endoscopes are notoriously difficult to clean. More difficult still is verifying that the cleaning has been adequate. Now there is a test for checking the cleanliness of the biopsy channel of the flexible endoscope. The EndoCheck™ is a miniature chemistry kit that is simple to use and interpret. Simply swab the biopsy channel of the scope with the included soft-tipped long probe, clip off the swab into the vial. Mix the activating agent, shake vigorously, wait and then check for a color change. Depending on the type of test used, a color change indicates that blood residue or protein residue remains in the channel, and should be reprocessed.

Nice strength recently looks like it wants to get back into its earlier initial higher range in the 140's?...IMHO.

This year Tristel needs to have good newflow to keep its solid record from the last 4 years or so going. It luckily has a lot of irons in the fire though, any one of which, could do the job (hopefully)...

I envy you both. I look forward to hearing your views. red, on VLG, made some very amusing comments on the MARS directors - I guess you don't see this unless you go.

Hopefully see you there then. Actually Tristel have been doing this for a number of years. They should be commended for their good equal treatment of PI's over the years (both with good and bad news over the years in my experience).

I'm impressed that they are doing a briefing for all investors as well as the analyst briefing. Even better, it's in a sensible place at a sensible time. I will be going.

A briefing for all investors will take place on Thursday 25 February at No.1 Cornhill, London, EC3V 3ND from 5.30pm for a 5.45pm start, and will be followed by drinks and canapés.

Soler's bio in the annual report refers to selling 3 previous businesses he was involved in. The execs also have options that can be exercised only on a change of control, most of which expire in Oct 2019. Overall, I suspect a decent bid here will one day be the end game.

"There is also a possibility of Tristel becoming a bid target as undoubtedly a fast growing cash rich and highly profitable company selling high-margin patented chlorine dioxide technology infection control healthcare products would represent a decent bolt-on purchase for a larger rival. In the circumstances, I would run your bumper gains."
