Bought a small amount under £4. |
Very volatile more recently caution needed.Looks as trading has definitely droppedAny one what will be the bottom priceIf it drops to 3.50 definitely will top up but unlikely maybe 380-390 soon. |
Simon, it's bounced from around this level multiple times over the last 12 months - this may be different..etc.
MCX selling off is unhelpful. A new lower trading range for TET is obvs a possibility. |
I think you'd have to take out the highs since late 2023 at least, so for example 18x forward pre-synergies EPS of 30p/share gets you to 540p. Whether that would be accepted I have no idea, but doubt you could get away under that, particularly as the share price was in the £5s only a few months back

Chemring with the rumoured takeover today from Bain Capital
Ftse 250 dropping like flies. Will Dave get to play out his vision or will someone come knocking
What price would shareholders on the board here all reasonably accept if it means they don't hold for the possible fruits of the next 3 years? |
Late trades are skewing the daily %'s.
The movements are usually less pronounced based on the the pre close bid/offer. |
Wild daily swings. |
Indeed!
Market down 50 odd points and Treatt up 11/12%!!
On 19th December I posted; 'Shares magazine this week has included Treatt as one of its 10 great picks for 2025. There is a very encouraging and positive 2 page report in the magazine.'
Which I thought was a fair assessment of the company's prospects but since that date it has actually performed very moderately. Until to-day.
As a long term holder, whether it is now beginning to move in the right direction and reflect the comments written about it, or is the possible subject of a bid, I am happy either way. |
Weird price action here. |
Yes ridiculous UT. It's usually to the downside & doesnt always recover. Short sellers given a free hand by the FCA. |
Incredible how bad liquidity is nowadays in the UK. How you can have such a small uncrossing trade drive a closing auction like that. The share price will bounce back tomorrow, but quite incredible really

Patience is key here. They mentioned orange oil in their update of 31 Jan, which is a large volume item for them and is v complicated at the moment, esp. in terms of supply from Mexico and Brazil. The good thing is that TET is now more conservatively run than before, so they are usually well hedged and covered with the more difficult raw materials.I see the shares as currently undervalued, and whilst they are much smaller than their peers (Givi,Kerry, IFF, Symrise, Misitano and Stracuzzi etc.) there is no reason at all not to classify them in the same category. On this basis there is plenty upside. |
Back below £4 despite the much improved balance sheet. Almost back at Covid lows! |
What has Croda got to do with this thread? |
EI - I'd agree it'd be nice if directors bought shares, but when you get gifted a lot of options, that can sometimes lead to directors not feeling the need to put the hand in their own pocket as they already feel sufficiently incentivised.
Either way down here, I do think the upside to downside risks are very attractively priced. The share price is drifting on thin/low volume at present
At 405p it's trading on only 13.5x next financial year's EPS forecast of 30p

@EI yes am following Croda - will 30 hold or will it fall through? |
I would be mortified to hold so few shares as CEO of the entire business.
CFO should arguably have got the top job.
Has anyone taken a look at the Croda share price recently..?. |
Ex div today, just under 6p. Good time for directors to show faith? |
Shannon has been CEO for nearly 9 months now and appears to hold Less than 3,000 shares?.
And what about the non exec's holdings..?. |
Surprised that the topic of lack of director share buying wasn't bought up at the AGM? Would be nice to see some of the non-execs put their hands in their pockets around these levels too..
Just worth remembering that we do have a brand new CEO here and naturally he will have his own ideas on how he wants to run this company and how he see's it developing. His strategy - one of developing sales teams and keeping them close to both new and old clients - is one he's bought over from Croda where it was tried and tested.
He only implemented this new strategy on Jan 1st this year so it's only a month old. It will take time to work and hence sales to come through, possibly at least 3 years imo..
In the meantime i also agree with the sitting duck comment.. |
thanks Partridge |
There was a mood of cautious optimism at the AGM. Plenty of spare capacity at the Bury St Edmunds facility and they aim to use that capacity to primarily increase sales of Premium higher margin product. It remains to be see whether they can do this, but it does appear that they are so far in line to generate high single digit revenue growth this year and low double digit profit growth. Respectable targets, which could be more than met if the sales team really perform. Now net cash in the bank,I agree with the sitting duck comment and disappointing not to see some director purchases at this depressed level.Always dyor. |
Ingredients is an oligopoly so if treatt get moving like they have in the past they will simply be acquired by one of the oligopolists imo
Investors forget that this is one of the best balance sheets and invested companies in the entire of the UK small and middle size plc market. There is next to no lease debt, big freshly invested facilities in the US and UK, 140m gbp of net asset value. Net cash again this year, probably at the half year
Dave better start running fast cos i agree down here this is a sitting duck |
