19/3/2021 11:07 | That's what I thought ? It's an easy profit but is it worth it ? According to the RNS the sale of UFG's stake was "irrevocable" so I doubt any counter offer is on the cards, but who knows. | troy
19/3/2021 11:01 | GWM Asset Management Limited - opened a long position by CFD's for almost 2% Are they just looking to make 3p profit on the shares when the offer completes (3rd quarter). Or do they thinka counter offer will be made? | nickwild
18/3/2021 19:55 | I have sold too. I feel we were robbed, but that is a perennial risk with mining stocks. As I posted a while back on this or the POLY board, the time to worry will be if gold does a moonshot. There is no way the oligarchs in Russia, or governments anywhere else (all up to their eyes in debt) are going to stand by and watch shareholders (especially foreign ones) make a killing. ALL countries regard mineral resources as a national asset. They are happy to see others put in the work and capital to explore and develop a mine, but when the profits flow they see those self same people as 'robbers from the people'. Licence and royalty fees rise (governments do not respect contracts). In countries with strong legal systems a legal route, such as an 'excess profits tax', is found (or would you bet against a Biden 'green' levy in the USA supposedly to pay for restoration of the landscape, or to penalise carbon emissions in order to save the world?) and in wilder parts there is outright appropriation. I think the moral is to take profits by tranches if gold miner SPs ever do go vertical, and to put the profits into bullion. In the meantime, I like dividend payers, as one is extracting value while holding the shares. Also look at silver, platinum and copper miners. They will be highly profitable too in an inflation driven commodity boom, and do not make avaricious government eyes light up quite so brightly as gold. This episode, from which we will all emerge with at least a small profit, is a salutary warning. Spread risk, don't go all in on any stock, take profits, and build holdings of physical metal as and when mining operations begin to look too profitable for the locals to resist. | 1knocker
18/3/2021 19:33 | I see another russian company taken over on the cheap I have learnt the lesson once, won't be bitten twice | ntv

18/3/2021 13:13 | "If any dividend or other distribution is authorised, declared, made or paid in respect of TSG Shares on or after the date of this Announcement, Horvik reserves the right to reduce the offer consideration by the aggregate amount of such dividend or other distribution." seems pretty clear to me 2tsg. If they pay a divi, the purchase price is likely to be reduced accordingly. Effectively, any divis are already priced in, imo | bmcb5
18/3/2021 13:07 | Whats happening with Divi ? Cant see any black n white answer ..... | 2tsg
18/3/2021 12:54 | I have moved my TSG cash into Altyn Gold (ALTN) one of the rare gold producers that has not re-rated, recent news has been positive, traded at £3 last year. | mrmcnee
18/3/2021 12:42 | I've sold out too. Very disappointing in the end I think I'll leave the cash sat there, to take advantage of any crazy market moves we may see in the coming weeks | bmcb5
18/3/2021 12:40 | Why is this stuck at 115p | spacedust
18/3/2021 12:34 | AMC - Russian takeover target? | hubs
18/3/2021 12:12 | I see little point holding onto these. By my reconning, the upside is capped at 118p, but if we hold to sale there is still the risk of a major issue at the mine, so we are still exposed to unlimited downside. This assumes that the buyer could walk away from the deal | leopoldalcox
18/3/2021 11:18 | SRB - 36,000 production, rising to 88,000 in 2 years, zero debt and huge exploration potential. MCAP 50M, will be 1B. | borisjohnsonshair

18/3/2021 09:53 | scooper avoid them, battery materials and even iron ore are much more interesting. Although I am now looking for a decent uk listed gold play. | ukgeorge
18/3/2021 09:47 | Well I got in a bit late. Sold some after the mine accident. Then bought a few back. And have now exited relieved to have not come off too badly. But need to learn more about gold miners and how to invest in them intelligently. | scooper72
18/3/2021 09:43 | It's an uplift on a price which has fallen back because of a fatal accident and related matters. It's a discount to where we were before that; in effect the buyer is taking advantage of the deaths of two miners to push through his low offer. It's pretty shameless. | zangdook
