of course terribly sad news for the staff concerned and their families and their work colleagues.
I have no doubt whatsoever that management will take this very seriously and do everything they possibly can to investigate & implement whatever necessary to avoid a repeat.
The company has a good track record on H&S so, I don't expect anything overly penal from the authorities.
Russia mainly all closed for New Year holidays until middle Jan

Body of the second gold miner retrieved by rescuers from the Asacha mine, owned by British Trans-Siberian Gold PLC. Earlier today five miners got trapped inside the mine at the Kamchatka peninsula after rock collapsed; three men managed to get out, two miners died

Main holidays in Russia are from New Year to Xmas. Orthodox Xmas is 7th January. So I would expect the mine to be operating on only skeleton staff atm.

Hopefully they'll be able to find the other trapped miner soon. Of greater impact within the RNS will be questions of mine safety and safety processes, damage to the mine, potential fines and timescale to recover operations. CAML saw a leak from tailings last year and their subsequent operational recovery was impressive.

2018 there was a similar accident with no Rds. At less I didn't found any.

Also, it hasn't been officially announced yet. When the RNS comes out it's bound to have an effect.

Buyers are coming in which is slowing the fall. I'll wait for at least 111, before considering an entry. Accidents like this (quite apart from the human cost to workers/families) can cause shut downs that impact price over a reasonable length of time. I can't help thinkinng that there is no rush to enter at 114.7

One miner died, another one missing after rocks collapsed at the Asacha gold mine (owned by the Trans-Siberian Gold plc, UK) at the Kamchatka peninsula. Three miners managed to find their way out after the collapse; search for the missing man continues. Pictures of the mine @ TSG

i am surprised we didn't get the dividend news today as we were promised it by the end of 2020. Still happy to wait and hold these. I am expecting these to continue to do well this year .

Q4 should see production boosted by the processing of the high grade ore from the new high grade vein. It should be a great year for tsg.

I'm personally not expecting much news in the first two weeks as most of Russia is on holiday until the 10th.

chestnuts, there was a special dividend of 6p and I think a normal dividend 1.8p
