06/2/2021 12:45 | Good guesses buffy but all f'ing wrong geyser. You guys are idiots if you don't think legitimate shorting (not naked) does not have a legitimate place in markets today. Although in David's defence he clarified "naked" shorting as opposed to "shorting" which is of course dubious in it's nature. Of course a company or fund, for whatever reason, may want to sell down stock as an arbitrage - whether they have made the right decision to do so - merely allows investors to profit or lose accordingly. If a company is strong and a good investment it will with-stand any shorting - if it is weak it was merely potentially bringing forward the day when this weakness was going to be recognised. If shorting is not a legitimate tool / instrument or has not been used as a "covered" strategy, it will eventually get "found out", as certain over leveraged funds have suffered recently in the states. Let me throw back a guess to you. 1. Supposedly a clerk to CEO of a family run broker firm, now retired who has made a few quid along the way but maybe get's a little confused with "modern" markets and their respective "instruments" and just oh so wishes, the "good old days" would return as it's just not "fair" anymore. 2. The fairness of old guffers chatting away with their mates doing deals whilst smoking and drinking claret have long gone buddy! 3. EDIT, PS I have never shorted a company before in my life but I realise such a methodology certainly has a legitimate place in markets today. | dunderheed
06/2/2021 11:59 | Dunderheed, DB eloquently beat me to it. Let me just add that “ who actually contribute to a market in well run businesses” is the sort of market speak nonsense promulgated by the city boys to help the gravy train along. It’s demonstrable nonsense. I’m guessing you are young, gullible or work in the industry. I haven’t ruled out all three, but you’ll know which apply to you. Buffy | buffythebuffoon
06/2/2021 11:19 | David wtgr - it is those shorters (who actually contribute to a market in well run businesses) who have enabled you to top up a bit on "lower" prices recently is it not? | dunderheed
06/2/2021 11:12 | The Coho “News” which actually isn’t news given they said it was happening this week only closed the Canadian price gap. London mid price Friday 159p against Toronto close $2.82. At $1.754 conversion that’s 160.78p, so the difference is immaterial. Nice to get rid of that arbitrage which resulted in low volumes on both sides of the Atlantic this week. | davidblack
06/2/2021 11:02 | Hi CFC, That was my thought. Combine initiating of testing with Coho approval and perhaps some other minor news.. Someone made a comment about Canadian investors getting an advantage. Really? The approval to commence production that we already knew was coming? This is what we get when there is so much focus from some ‘investorsR Unless you are a ‘put my monthly savings allowance in’ type of investor, it’s far better to take a meaningful stake and perhaps top up when Mr Market offers you some cheap hamburgers (yeah, I’m a Buffett man) and sit back. This daily focus is non productive. Although I guess if you pay for level 2 you may as well offer the other readers some football scores. Buffy | buffythebuffoon
06/2/2021 10:51 | Hi DB, “ Mind you I do hope the shorters if any get barbecued come Monday! Sorry I know that’s not very kind but personally I would like to burn them in hell!” Better to burn them here. It’s too hot to do any work there old boy. Buffy | buffythebuffoon

05/2/2021 22:12 | At last Coho gets the green light now that's a super snippet of news to end the week on 👍 Looking forward to a blue Monday. Just a thought maybe PB was planning to include the Coho news along with other news that's due soon... Tick tock. | captainfatcat
05/2/2021 21:13 | Spawny I just think if they RNS every nuance they are not going to have enough time to actually build the company! Anyway a pleasant surprise and all that has occurred is Toronto and London are now in sync so no one has been disadvantaged as I can see it. Mind you I do hope the shorters if any get barbecued come Monday! Sorry I know that’s not very kind but personally I would like to burn them in hell! | davidblack
05/2/2021 20:50 | I can confirm the authenticity of that email. I've received more or less similar email from PB. Anyone can email PB & can confirm it. | mynameiskhan
05/2/2021 20:37 | DB he's given several dates in the past for Coho permits that have been missed so I'm not sure why we should have taken the last one as a cert. Agree this ought to be rns'd if it's true. | spawny100
05/2/2021 20:17 | When approved or when they start digging? He was clear that approval was going to be this week. The bit that’s unclear is when digging would start, so the lack of release so far is not unreasonable. | davidblack
05/2/2021 19:57 | Your right he was very clear.. 1.20 onwards.. "we'll certainly put something out as soon as we've got that approval"https://you | bernieman
05/2/2021 19:55 | mhh, strange. in the last interview he said they would rns the pipe approval. sometimes I dont trust my memory. maybe Im mixing up sth. have to rehear it. | thommie
05/2/2021 19:44 | Or it’s a failing to believe PB and he was very clear. | davidblack
05/2/2021 19:42 | Surely the fact that Canada has reacted, shows that this is market sensitive news that should have been released via official RNS. Those Canadians who happened to follow 'Stacebook' would have got themselves a trading advantage. Of course if true it's great news, regardless of delivery. | bernieman
05/2/2021 19:19 | Perhaps this now proves NGC CAN expedite the production process and that Q4 target for first production from Cascadura may not be totally aspirational? | king suarez
05/2/2021 19:13 | Building the wall of cash to begin shortly.... | highly geared
05/2/2021 19:10 | Canadian market is responding, now into $2.80's | mynameiskhan |
