In fact when Europeans went to Africa it was different African tribes that were using slaves. The Europeans took the idea globally. It's not about race or country, but some are trying hard to make it that.

I think the 400 years ago should conclude the conversation re compensation.

Here comes the excuse I've heard a hundred times. We are talking about the enslavement of tens of millions of blacks from Africa to the Americas for 400 years. Generations of families . Just imagine in some cases up to 7 generations. That's the topic

Slavery has been going on for centuries.

I want compo from the Italians for the Romans invading England and the Danes for the Viking invasions of England and subsequent enslavement.

Those Romans and North Africans had better be getting their cheque books out too then.

Then Research the topic of British slavery compensation with your trusted source ( i guess the daily fail ) or even the bank of England

The arsonist who put out the fire should get compensation for that? Do you know that to end slavery in the carribbean all British slave owners were compensated for each slave they owned. Most got tens of millions of pounds in today's money and this was paid by the British state to the slave owners and their descendants for decades. But what did the slaves get for enriching those families and the British state in 200+ years of slavery? Zilch!

That proposal of paying San Francisco black descendants of the enslaved reparation to the tune of $5 million each is not the right approach. It has been rejected by many prominent black leaders and scholars. The money should be better spent in schools, housing, training facilities especially in technology, scholarships, health care , support businesses, create jobs and opportunities within the black communities and other poor neighbourhoods.

JM been looking for a long time.
The Middle East, South America and Russia seem to be the only answer but they have their own problems I think?!

SAN Fransisco wants to give every Black person 5 million USD, because well, they’re Black (or identified as Black for a number of years).

The Woke generation has been taught to expect free hand outs, and they’re coming for our life’s hard work to pay for it.

Just google 5 million dollars black and you’ll get the story on whatever news channel you like.

I’m identifying as Black from today onwards, and I went to a majority Black high school when I identified as White, so I was a minority.

Is there anyplace in the world we can move to escape the insanity?

I doubt this would happen, but regardless, no government would dare introduce a retrospective tax, so you’d better tuck away what you can as a precaution if you have any allowance to use. They may introduce something similar to pensions with the A day protection which I took out at the time.

I love TXP and am grateful for the upside it has provided. However, (more than) once bitten, twice shy.

My original buy price was around 13p - topped up in the low 20s for an average of around 16p - rode it all the way to 160 plus with sells along the way and 2 tranches sold in the 160s

Added at 90p in May 2022 in expectation of delayed Coho coming online per PB guidance to bolster my remaining TXP holdings (average sell prices in excess of 100p).

Sold entirely out of TXP at 88p in Sept 2022 as I was wary of further fund raise / uncertainty re Coho given inordinate delays.

Hopefully TXP comes good - but Paul Baay is not a straight shooter... and it is always wise to bank profits more so with small AIM firms. No one got poor taking profits :)

Picked-up the below recently ->

Michael Zezas, Head of Global Thematic Research at Morgan Stanley - " the average equity holding period has declined from eight years in the 1960s to six months today".

I missed out on the earlier rise here from teens but had a few small trades in late 2020 and 21. I kept watching as most of the last 2 years had funds invested in i3e , prd, axl and a few other shares. On the recent fund raise I took the opportunity to buy 100k shares averaging 54p. 4 weeks back you could buy in 10k lots at 53p.Imho there is a huge opportunity here and TXP could be one of the star performers of 2023 . All kicking off with Royston spud at end of the month and Cascadura should be online by April. As said before my personal target is 150p.

Fair enough, 60s would be a great, but unlikely, buy price IMHO.
