The rise was unrelated to the contract news.

"Touchstar is well positioned, the events in 2020 have only accelerated the trend to digitalise business and move to an e-commerce model. Our customers typically facilitate the completion of on-line transactions, using Touchstar to enable data to be captured, moved and used - this is potentially a valuable place to be situated."

glad I topped up below 40p

------

based on the financial numbers it is cheap
...but sure, it needs to deliver growth, or hint that it is about to, to really move the share price upwards

its delivery software business should be doing ok, with the delivery sector being very busy with many ppl at home & many shops closed

Another contract award on the website but rest assured, the rise today is not related to the contract. Get them while you can.
The haters will be biting their tongues.

Just had an email from LinkedIn which was in connection with TST. Seems as if they are pushing their security systems to high values businesses which at the very least goes to show they are trying different avenues of revenues.

Rivaldo, thanks for the link. Great to see that there is good demand for the handheld devices.

During last conference call, they indicated that one of the months was not as good as they wished. I am waiting for next trading update to evaluate the impact of that reduced month and then will decide whether to scale in again. Price is very tempting and not many shares available in this region.

TS8200 unit

expensive to develop such a rugged unit, be nice if TST could get more sales globally, perhaps by licencing the design or something to some big co. or big user

"Carn Coldstores Selects TouchStar’s TS8200 Handheld For New State-Of-The-Art Cold Storage Facility
03 November 2020

Following a £9million investment in a brand new cold storage facility in Portadown, Northern Ireland, Carn Coldstores, a leading provider of temperature-controlled services has selected TouchStar’s TS8200 handheld mobile computer to support real time data capture within their order picking processes.

Part of Derry Refrigerated Transport, one of Ireland’s leading refrigerated distributors, Carn Coldstore’s state of the art chilled and frozen warehousing services include storage, order picking and product invoicing services.

Their brand new 52,000 sq ft warehouse facility, one of a kind in Ireland, stands at 17.5 metres high, allowing products to be stored from -25 to +5 degrees. The large investment in the new facility integrates the most advanced equipment with the objective of creating an environmentally friendly, state of the art operation that delivers an efficient and reliable service to their customers.

One of the key components that supports Carn’s service offering is data capture. Data capture provides a key role in supporting accurate and efficient order picking within their operations. With the development of their new site in Portadown near completion, Carn turned to UK based rugged mobile and scanning specialist’s TouchStar Technologies to review their requirements, selecting their in-house manufactured TS8200 handheld computer as the best fit hardware for their data capture requirements.

Mark Livingstone, IT Manager, at Carn Coldstore’s comments, “One of the key factors for us at Carn Coldstore’s was to select a unit that not only provided advanced scanning capability but was also reliable. TouchStar not only impressed us in terms of their rugged hardware, but also their technical knowledge, reassuring us that we were investing in a well-supported and future proof solution.”

Rugged by design, the TouchStar’s Android TS8200 integrates a metal alloy chassis, high impact polycarbonate plastics and highly durable, hard-capped keys making it the perfect choice for the demanding cold storage environment that Carn operate within. With its advanced scanning capability and hot swappable battery, the TS8200 will be supporting Carn’s operation’s with technology that guarantees continuous operation, maximising output and increasing workload efficiency.

Peter Marsh, Sales Director for TouchStar comments, “With over three decades of experience within the development of mobile computers for robust conditions, we were thrilled to be working alongside such a highly regarded cold storage brand with respect to their hardware requirements. At TouchStar, not only are our TS8200 devices purpose built to provide enterprise level support for cold chain operations, but as a locally UK supported solution, we will be guaranteeing minimum downtime and a reduced cost of ownership. We look forward to building our relationship with Carn Coldstores in the future.”

Chelverton Trust announced their final results last night, and had this to say about TST:

"Touchstar plc (AIM - 19.2% of portfolio)

Touchstar continued to develop its focused and streamlined business. It reported an improving position in its recent interim results and has built up strength in its balance sheet. In common with the companies above, it is to be hoped that 2021 will be a much better year and that 2022 will further show the strength and quality of the revitalised business."
