Lets be fair Nobby, you didn't care for Cummins aforehand. What he has done is ratify your feelings about him and Bozo. To that end, perhaps you should be unsurprised at the hypocrisy shown and leave it at that.

I agree, Cummins could well have spread the disease into areas previously untouched, and therefore a killer in some people's books, but he is also unshameably human and trades on that quality as a reformer.

There is no election for another 5 years, so Bozo will keep his rottweiler a while longer.

So you dont think that our political masters should lead by example, graham. Perhaps , in a totally legal sense it could be argued that he did nothing wrong, ( although i myself would not argue that way ), but he certainly did not respect the spirit of the quarantine rules, and as a political master ( or should that be puppet master in his case ) he should have gone out of his way to ensure that he was abiding by the spirit of the very same regulations that he had imposed on the rest of the population. Frankly this episode has been a disgrace for the Conservative party, and it beggars belief that Boris has not told him to go. I suspect that in the future Boris will come to regret his misplaced loyalty to his colleague.

Getting in a car and driving with wonky eyesight is utterly stupid. You dont need to drive 30 miles to tell wether your fit to drive. However its done and dusted i'm sure there will be more politicians that flaunted the rules he just happened to get caught lol.

As for amending his blog to try to make himself look clever, well that just sums him up. Absolutely not to be trusted...

Perhaps I've been reading too many fairy stories graham :) (Orwell's description of AF).

Yes i too don't want to waste time on politics but if you think you might have wonky eyesight, do you get in a car with a 4yo kid and drive (after claiming motive for original journey was childcare too!!).

Utterly reckless imho (and not a brexit related issue as 52 percent of people who voted for brexit - via Britain Elects I think it was, or yougov, but results were similar - want Cummings to go.

Anyway I'm sure Orwell would have written another story for us to enjoy on this sorry episode, but on a lighter note if any of you don't follow @coldwarsteve on twitter and you enjoy satire, you really are missing a trick imho. Very funny, whatever your politics!

Nobby

Like i said he done nothing wrong those 100's of people who couldn't go and see dying relatives is completely different. He was trying to protect a child that was alive, what would you have done if put in the same position. Its time the bloody media moved on there are far more newsworthy stories around and time to get the country back on its feet not dwell on the past.

All the news on the BBC is bias against the Government mate. Johnson promised to privatise the BBC and they wont give in. The quicker they have to fight to stay on air the better.

So,it's ok for Cummins to follow his instinct but not those 1000s of people who didn't go to see their dying relatives or go to their funerals! Surely they should have followed their instinct and gone....is that what you think? Then there would have been another 25k deaths!

I agree with every element of that post Graham. Emily Maitlis on Newsnight last night could not hide her bias.

In terms of not resting, I have emailed my MP 4 times and texted radio 5 about 20 times. The Tory MP who was on this morning made me furious....

Completely and utterly disagree. I won't rest until he is gone. Animal Farm is such a good analogy, one rule for us and the rest of you can suffer! He and Johnson are a complete disgrace! I have just sat down to watch the select committee hearing; I hope they make him squirm. His performance the other day was abject and embarrassing!

Animal Farm is so appropriate at the moment with the ongoing Cummins fiasco. Don't want to start a political debate but he MUST go!!!
