Wouldn’t worry at the end of the day it’s increased revenue and we currently have a seller who has no doubt already committed their shares to market makers. Until they are all gone we will not see a sustained rise imo

On the Newlands we have no idea when they bought most of the position or at what price do we? Only that on 2nd August they made a purchase which took them over the 3% level where they had to declare.

Exactly Del. "Negativity is balance, positivity is ramping", apparently.... Nonsense of course, despite some people's tedious 'I'm only trying to...' discourse to the contrary!

I'm happy with my holding and will continue to add when I can...

I haven't heard anything different about the company, management or NHS plans that's any different from what was known for last couple of years..

The share price movements don't bother me...

Yup, easy to read your continual "tongue in cheek" comments as deramps... just wanted to add some balance to your negativity and for new investors to note that the actual truth is that the Newlands bought twice as much stock in the market as they did via a spreadbet.

I'm not looking for a quick profit off the back of a ramp and then out. I'm looking for significant longer-term gains if they can get Vocare right and demonstrate improving financials.

Ignoring reality isn't often recommended for longer-term investors. You might as well face the reality that institutions have been selling and not be surprised if you see evidence of further sales. I don't know about the Newlands. Clearly my "having a punt" was said tongue in cheek, but the more serious point was that it needs a lot of private investors buying to counter significant institutional selling. One other thing Wendy said at the AGM was that they were aware that there was a shift in the investor base towards private investors and I think she said they were considering organizing some sort of investor event to give more a chance to learn about the company and meet the senior team.

The institutions pain can be the private investor's gain of course. If the institutions have to dump for risk management reasons then that could keep the price "artificially" low, so if you believe it's a reasonable longer-term play then it's a good chance to build a position.

Interesting you don't mention the other bit about Newland's stake 1gw.

;-)

But the institutions are the ones to follow. They are the experts who invest.

Invest at 60p and sell at 20p.

Hmmm, and you are saying that you are holder who has bought more recently.

Of course 1gw, of course.

Just because you have a spreadbet doesn't mean to say you are trading. For me it is a long term way of avoiding CGT.

Good post Sikh. Pleased with the news this morning, knew I should have topped up on what looked to me at the time a classic bear trap yesterday...The majority of contracts are already multi-year ones, so don't need announcing. Way some posts read you'd be fooled into thinking they need to announce loads to stand still. Not the case imho.

Reality check.

Institutions have been voting with their feet, and it's going to take a lot of enthusiastic private investors (or some very deep-pocketed ones) to counter the impact of institutions selling. More institutions may come, but they may need to wait for evidence of the turnaround in the results rather than just take it on faith that the cost of getting the CQC ratings up isn't going to further drag on the financials.

It seems to me from the holdings notices over the last year or so, plus the annual report/TLY website, the balance is something like:

Institutions who have been selling:
Lombard Odier (ex Henderson)
Killik & Co (did buy, but have been selling more recently)
Miton
Hargreave Hale/Canaccord (no longer on the 3%+ list)
Schroders (no longer on the 3%+ list)

Institutions who have held their position:
Royal London
Legal & General
Ameriprise/Columbia Threadneedle
Unicorn
Seneca

It's great having the Newlands taking a punt, but it's going to need more than them to turn it round I think.

The question in the nearish term I think, before results show a clear turnaround, is can those institutions who have not been selling continue to justify holding their position in the face of the poor shareprice performance and other institutions' selling?

Happy to be corrected on any of this, if anyone has better data.

"I don't mind reasonable views of both sides, I am all about that."

Absolutely..same here... It's all too easy to let an investment (money) cloud a person's judgement...
If an investor is comfortable with their investment then great. If the positive newsflow continues then the share price will take care of itself.
If the newsflow changes then re-assess risk/reward.

I'm happy with my holding here.

I don't mind reasonable views of both sides, I am all about that.

What I don't like it malicious campaigns against individuals that spoils a board and impacts the investments of others.

No-one cares about your beef with SilkTech, just take it elsewhere. What you are doing is just childish and malicious.
