I haven't received anything yet from Interactive Investor or SelfTrade. I had shares in an ISA with Selftrade that didn't get transferred to ii, probably because they had already been declared of negligible value several year prior. SelfTrade have agreed to forward any received TRK payments to ii as cash.

If you have a nominee account and your broker didn't bother to claim this final dividend on your behalf then you would have a reasonable claim against them, unless your shareholding was below the threshold for which any payment would be received. I believe that if you held 100000 shares then the payment would be £2.30 to the nearest pence. I had a total of 4500000 shares split between the 2 accounts, so if it really happens then there is probably enough there to buy a pint and a half of beer, even in London?

I also got badly burned with Esken (formerly Stobart Group) that has just gone into administration and been delisted. I received an interesting communication yesterday from ii, stating that delisted shares cannot be held in an ISA and they would transfer them to my trading account instead. I was going to register the substantial capital losses for TRK and ESKN anyway but it appears that the ones held in the ISA and normally not eligible to use for offsetting future capital gains may become so!

My own fault for not having used a stop loss and hoping for a recovery that never came. OTOH I may receive an inheritance that includes residential property, where having substantial capital losses may actually prove rather useful.

Hi

What was the per share payout? I have lots of shares held with Interactive Investor plus some that got stuck at Selftrade (didn't get transferred to ii because the company had already been declared of negligible value). Interactive Investor said that Selftrade would pass any payment to them for distribution.

Thanks

FWIW, I recently have been in contact with Mazars regarding a distribution to shareholders.

By e mail, the extract below is what they have just told me. Btw, If you have not been so advised by whoever held your TRK shares when they went into liquidation, you might wish to contact them. Any distribution afaik will be miniscule though.

Extract from Mazar's e mail:-

Mr xxxxxx

I have checked our records and HSDL are on the schedule of investors.

The notice will be sent out to them on 31 January 2024 and they will have 4 weeks to submit their claim. If they do not submit a claim they will not be included in the distribution. It might be a good idea for you to contact them about your claim once the notice has been sent to them to ensure that they submit a claim in respect of your shareholding.

If they submit a claim it would be a matter for HSDL to deal with funds and distribute them accordingly.

If you had TRK shares in a Selftrade (EQI) ISA, that was part of the bulk transfer to Interactive Investor, then the following may be of interest:

I noticed that all the TRK shares held in my ISA had disappeared probably because they had been declared of negligible value prior to the transfer and before the liquidator started talking about a return of capital. I brought this to the attention of ii and eventually they confirmed that Selftrade still hold the shares as nominee and that they cannot be transferred to Interactive Investor. However, a mechanism has been agreed so that any distributed capital will be returned as cash to the owner of the shares. It is not specified whether this will be inside or outside of the ISA.

If others are in the same situation, then hopefully this process will be automatic but it might be worth getting in touch with ii just in case.

On 14.01/2022 I received a Corporate Action message from Interactive Investor , as follows:

"Shares Deemed Worthless - Update
Further to our notice dated 27th January 2020 advising that the liquidators of Torotrak plc had deemed the shares
worthless and as such were removed from your account.
We have now had further information from the liquidators that indicates that there will be funds distributable to
shareholders. It is anticipated that there will be sufficient funds to enable a return of approximately 1.62 pence,
however this is subject to change based on future realisations and expenses.
We have therefore, recredited your account with the shares."

The approximately 1.62p per share figure is restated but conditional, with no timeline but nice if it happens - I have 450000 TRK shares.

Many shells have also been formed out of trading companies that have sold their main assets and are left with nothing but cash. But cash shells have faced mounting criticism that they are too speculative, encouraging investors to back ventures blindly with little knowledge of managers’ plans or when they can expect a return.

The London Stock Exchange is clamping down on “cash shells” — companies listing on London’s Alternative Investment Market with no assets except cash — in a move to shore up the junior market’s reputation.

The LSE, which regulates Aim, is proposing to double the level of cash that a company must raise when joining the market from £3m to £6m in hopes that it will prompt tighter scrutiny of strategy and governance by a broader range of market professionals and investors
They do not have £6million!

Anyone going to the AGM ? Id go myself but my therapist thinks its a bad idea due the the violent spasms the occur when the words Torotrak and board come together. I am concerned about the well being of Nick Barter now that the fat lady has cleared her throat this particular cash cow is about to end.

Poor old Nick has watched people loose their jobs investors loose everything whist still drawing a fat cheque.

At least he can apply to enter the directorship hall of frame with the Phoenix four, Phil Green, John Deloren, he is certainly my c..t of the year.

"The £16 million of funds for the acquisition of Flybrid and to provide investment for the group have been raised from a combination of existing and new institutional investors and from Torotrak’s loyal private shareholder base." ----- I must be one of the loyal!
