Well, I would just remind you that Adam Tomlinson of Libernum said after the last quarterly announcement "....the shares are ‘cheap’ on a current year 2022 price/earnings ratio of 7x, a free cashflow yield of 11%, and a dividend yield of 8%." That was based on a price of 39.9p so I'd expect no change in that view or his target of £1.10. Don't forget, as well as trading positively Tops has cash on the balance sheet, so while i might agree about not expecting anything good, I would equally contend we won't hear anything particularly bad

Unusual activity here of late. Notable exchanges including the 9.3 million today.

The volumes out there are absolutely dire of late, but it looks like MS Galleon want to get close to that 30% threshold with some very notable buying. This is a very peculiar move.

I mean of all the shares out there to attract this level of buying (21% to perhaps near 30%?), you wouldn't have expected TPT to be the one. I don't see how TPT don't warn at some point in the future in this environment.

So why buy now? Is something about to happen here?

Surely it is too early or are they just going to deploy their capital here, sit at the threshold as part of a longer term move looking years out. Hmmmm. The timing looks off but I might be wrong.

I can't buy this here unless there is something out there to suggest corporate activity and there doesn't appear to be, well not unless those posting these rumours have a source that can be posted here.

If it is a case of nothing corporate, then this will probably follow the theme of other shares. The buyer get exhausted by the larger sellers, the price flat lines at best (or will likely continue the downtrend as the market prices in downgrades) and then a profit warning will follow.

Intriguing to understand their objective. Could be happy with the added powers 25% brings or may be building up to the 29.9% maximum. Hard to see what this on market buying is doing for them if a full bid is the intention because its only pushing the price higher

Strong bid rumour this evening from a reliable source. Will be very interesting to see if it materialises on Monday and buyers pile in while it is dirt cheap.

Thats nice, although I would rather see investors come in attracted by the cash on the balance sheet, the resilient business model and the free cash flow generation driving DPS returns to shareholders.

Yeah me too; a target of 110p would be rather optimistic in my view, but a buy at this level should be a reasonable punt.

I'd agree with you except I've been of that opinion for years, all the way from something like £1.20 if I remember correctly
