07/2/2014 07:39 | Top Level Domain Holdings is growing a war chest Dear Greg Foster, We've seen a pull-back in markets over the past fortnight. It hasn't been enough yet to call it a proper correction but it has changed investor psychology a little. Blowing the froth off shares is usually a good thing and hopefully it will allow us to catch our breath before making further progress. Not a big week for company news, but what's come out has been generally positive. Top Level Domain Holdings (TLDH) has conditionally raised £21m through a placing at 12p. This means they have a $48m cash pile plus a $15m debt facility with which to compete in the remaining 43 domain name auctions in which it has an interest. This puts it in a powerful position to maximise the opportunities available during this "land-grab" for new domains. It's a bit like playing poker with a reassuringly large stack of chips in front of you! The placing is said to have generated a high level of interest and the shares have responded well. TLDH is also changing its name to Minds and Machines which is the name of its operating businesses. Buy (today's close 14p) | johnma

As a result, the IRB is now the sole applicant for .RUGBY, taking the number of uncontested top level domains in which the Company has an interest to 25. 05/2/2014 16:20 | Stumbled across this from just after their recent placing:- "It is rare that a placing done at a discount prompts the share price racing higher, but that's what's happened with Top Level Domain Holdings (LON:TLDH). In late morning trading, shares were up 1.3p to 14.05p, more than 2p above the price of the placing. Investors appear to have got the message espoused by the company's house broker, N+1 Singer, that there is considerable upside potential for shareholders. "The old world dominated by Verisign (registry in charge of .com) and GoDaddy (largest registrar i.e. retailer of domain names) is about to be disrupted by new players that include Google and Amazon. TLDH, one of the two largest independent players, offers a unique exposure to this market where we believe considerable value for shareholders can be created," said N+1 Singer's technology specialist, Tintin Stormont." | nickg2
05/2/2014 08:28 | appalling spelling chaps sorry | tinklepop
05/2/2014 07:02 | The broker comment lends wait to the argument that the price should continue to move up until the auctions. What'll then be in focus is weather we win a name, which one it is, and how much we pay for it. That IMO is where it gets slightly trickier, because the upside is an unknown. If one pays £10m for .blog for example, how do we know if that's money well spent. More information nearer the time will be useful. | tinklepop
05/2/2014 04:27 | House Broker Tintin stormont"An analysis of its current portfolio (largely DCF-based) suggest to us a value of c24p is not unreasonable (18.1p for uncontested names, 2.0p for contested names, and 3.8p for cash) and we believe there is upside to this if it can enhance its portfolio further," Stormont said. | johnma |
