Applicant Auction Date Confirmed - 18th Feb 2014!

"The last opportunity to participate in the Applicant Auction before ICANN's first auction is February 18th. If you are interested in participating, please contact us immediately - the cut-off for participation is January 31st."

hxxp://www.circleid.com/posts/20140127_exploring_the_various_options_of_private_gtld_auctions/

The strategy adopted by TLDH is just as much about targeting the Auctions you dont win as legitimate targets to actually secure - hence accruing additional cash resources for the Company.

Obviously they can be used to bid higher on specific Domains and / or future promotion of such domains.

I'm still looking to see where the one off $15M will be spent & the identity of the party backing the bid.

Le's see the realization of Zac Mir's technical assessment for a move to 20p plus within the next 4-6 weeks. Many of us would have predicted the strong move anyway based on multiple developments due but good to get both viewpoints backing up the anticipation for a significant rise!

"Top Level Domain Holdings (TLDH): Higher Low Above 12p Brings Back 20p Into Focus
Published by: zakmir on 26th Jan 2014 | View all blogs by zakmir

It is probably the case as far as Top Level Domain Holdings shares are concerned that the hot money which had been going into the stock over the course of October is probably wondering what happened to this shooting star of a stock where there was a Spike from under 5p to 20p plus in just over a month? The situation now is that we have seen consolidation here after the November peak where there has been a rising trend channel from October with its floor currently running through 13p.

The rising trend channel in the price chart is backed by a rising trendline in the oscillator window currently running at the 40 level and twice tested over the course of January. The implication here is therefore that at least while there is no end of day close back below January bear trap low at 12p on an end of day close basis we should be biased to an upside resolution of the current consolidation. Indeed, only cautious traders would wait on an end of day close back above the 20 day moving average at 13.87p before taking the plunge on the long side timeframe on a move towards 20p would be the next 4 to 6 weeks after the 20 day line is broken."

Zac Mir on for 20p plus within the next 4-6 weeks as per mails link. That fits in with major Newsflow with the next round of Applicant Auctions.

Everything shaping up well along with the wider gTLD sphere as indicated in the previous post.

"Go Daddy "thousands and thousands" of people have preregistered 25 new gtlds -"

"Donuts put out a blog post yesterday where they said they have already received total orders and commitments over $5million."

Go Daddy

"Go Daddy has also mentioned some numbers with regards to the new gtlds. In the piece in the Los Angeles Times, Mike McLaughlin was quoted as saying,

GoDaddy is expecting a rush of buyers and already has 25 extensions available for preregistration. So far, "thousands and thousands" of people have preregistered, with .guru and .photography endings being the most popular, McLaughlin said.

hxxp://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-new-internet-addresses-20140124,0,1802905.story#ixzz2rRroVgny

The LA Times piece also stated that many people they spoke to were not aware of the program but that some did say they would consider switching. One bike shop owner did say when available he would switch to a .bike."

Top Level Domain Holdings (TLDH): Higher Low Above 12p Brings Back 20p Into Focus ... via

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's a DOMAIN!
Well, technically the kiwi (small flightless bird grounded in New Zealand) does not fly but the new generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) .kiwi may get off to a flying start.

For those that do not follow the sport of cricket, the word kiwi is also the nickname for a New Zealander.

.kiwi launched its Sunrise on 16 January 2014, which will end on 17 March 2014. During this period trade mark owners from across the globe with a validated trade mark can apply to register a .kiwi domain name matching their trade mark, such as lexsynergy.kiwi.

.kiwi does not have a local presence requirement although it is focused on providing New Zealanders, New Zealand businesses and brands with a unique online presence.

January 22, 2014 7:47 PMSell Bikes? There's a Web Domain for ThatSmall Businesses Hope to Gain From the Rollout of Addresses With Endings Like .Bike and .SinglesBy SARAH E. NEEDLEMANThe World Wide Web is about to get a lot wider.Starting Jan. 29, the first of hundreds of new top-level Web domains-the suffixes that appear at the end of website addresses like .com and .net-will become available for the first time in more than a decade.Seven Web domains will be released next week, including .bike, .clothing and .singles. The new domains are expected to draw interest mainly from entrepreneurs and small-business owners seeking Web addresses that more closely relate to the products and services they sell than the Web addresses that are currently available to them.Today, .com is by far the most popular Web domain. Roughly 112 million Web addresses end in .com, compared with 15.2 million ending in .net and 10.4 million ending in .org, according ZookNIC Inc., an Internet research firm."It's a marketing opportunity," says Avery Pack of Dania Beach, Fla., who hopes to get a Web address ending in .bike, such as custom.bike. His six-year-old company, Republic Bike Inc., designs and builds bicycles according to the colors, styles and accessories its customers prefer most-including the bright red, yellow and green bikes that Google Inc. employees use to get around the company's sprawling Mountain View, Calif., campus. Mr. Pack has several ideas for using the new domain, such as to create a website for customers to post photos, video and other content about the wheels they buy from his business.Web addresses for the new domains will go on sale through so-called registrars like GoDaddy.com and Name.com, which buy the Web addresses from domain wholesalers known as registry holders. Many small-business owners consider the annual cost of a Web address-which can range from $10 to thousands of dollars-to be an investment in keeping their brands visible. But some are skeptical, especially those who have already committed funds to marketing their existing Web addresses.Jay Sofer, founder of a small locksmith service in New York, says he's spent tens of thousands of dollars to advertise Lockbustersnyc.com, since he started the business in 2008. Letting existing and potential customers know about a new address for his company-no matter how clever-would mean having "to start from scratch" to get the word out, he says.Another concern is that the new domains will fail to resonate with consumers. After all, extensions such as .info, .mobi and .biz have been around for years, and aren't very popular. And nowadays, most search engines have made it possible for Internet users to simply type a small business's name without including an extension like .com and still get to the website they're seeking.Registrars say thousands of entrepreneurs and others have already preregistered names for the new Web domains to increase their odds of getting the Web addresses they want most. The move doesn't guarantee they will be successful, though, in part because registrars are required to give a first chance at securing names to trademark holders. Some new Web addresses will initially be sold at a premium to buyers willing to pay extra. For example, Web addresses ending in .clothing will cost $12,539.99 on Jan. 29 and will decrease by a few thousand dollars daily until they reach their standard price of $39.99 on Feb. 5. Also, if a Web address attracts multiple interested buyers during this so-called land-rush period, an auction could ensue. Most Web addresses with the new domains, however, will cost between $10 and $40 a year, compared with up to $15 a year on average for most .com addresses today, according to GoDaddy, the world's largest registrar. But there will be plenty of exceptions. Addresses within the new domain .luxury, for instance, will cost a minimum of $799.99 a year on GoDaddy starting in the spring. And .buzz, also due out in the spring, includes one address with a price tag of $40,000-jobs.buzz, according to dotStrategy Inc., a startup in Conway, Ark., that has the rights to oversee .buzz.DotStrategy and other domain wholesalers have a lot riding on the success of the new Web extensions. Just to become registry holders they had to pay an application fee of $185,000 per domain to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or Icann, the nonprofit that coordinates the world's Internet domain names.Icann began accepting applications for the new domains two years ago this month, including for the first time names in non-Latin languages. Businesses ranging from startups to large companies such as Google and Microsoft Corp., plus nonprofits and government entities submitted a total of 1,930 applications.Donuts Inc., a 19-employee registry holder with offices in the U.S. and U.K., is releasing the first seven domains, which also include .plumbing, .ventures, .holdings and .guru. The three-year-old venture-backed company applied for the most-307 domains-and so far Icann has approved about 120 of them.Daniel Schindler, one of the company's four co-founders, says the Internet is long overdue for change, arguing that existing domains like .com convey little or no meaning. "There's pent up demand for these new names," he says.Don Teague of Coppell, Texas, has his sights set on a .christmas address for his seven-year-old business, Synchronized Christmas Inc., which specializes in setting up decorative light displays. He believes the Web address synchronized.christmas is more memorable than his company's current one, synchronizedchristmas.com.Plus, .christmas "just sounds cool," he adds. The .christmas domain is expected to launch this summer.

According to David Weill, an ex Director of TLDH re: dotRodeo,

"It's about a $20 billion+ business in the USA - I would not turn my nose up at that and by the way and we own it."

The prize money alone in the US amounts to some $30M with nationa coverage of events by major channels.

The Horse industry itself has a direct economic effect on the US of $39 Billion with an a $102 billion impact on the U.S.economy when the multiplier effect of spending by industry suppliers and employees is taken into account.

Spirit - my thoughts exactly when i read his post on LSE this morning. Whilst we're confident TLDH is heading in the right direction its certainly reassuring to hear those comments from someone who was involved with the formation of the company and knows the team well.
Particularly like his comment "Fred and is team are doing everything right - no complaints from me."

A quick Google and you get Davids profile that correlates with some of the other posts Ive read from him.

Any thoughts on the namescon conference? - Seems all the big guns were there including Fred and Avc.

Interesting comments by David Weill, one of the founders of TLDH and an ex Director who sometimes posts on the LSE forum - that's been verified btw.

"These price fluctuations are just noise until a Bid for the company happens and IMO that will be at a much higher level then here and in the not too distant future.

I personally think that we are in a trading range of 13-19p for the share price. When we break through the upside resistance of around 20p, it will probably be as a result of the progress that the company has made on pre-registrations, major deals with third parties and/or private auctions results.

Fred and is team are doing everything right - no complaints from me."

He's obviously looking at nearer term, pre-emptive bidding activity to be initiated - I wonder which interested party is assessing Top Level Domain Holdings atm?

In the meantime we can look towards the next round of Applicant Auctions due and as posted previously.

A lot going on for TLDH in the coming weeks, from which we then move towards the first launch phase for DotLondon in Spring.

Further Applicat Auctions should be condensed into the first half of the year and Fred Krueger, Chairman of TLDH, said:

"We are delighted with the result of the latest private auction rounds. Our strategy remains to best monetise those applications where we see least value so that we can maximise our ability to acquire those names in which we see greatest value. We very much look forward to competing in the next private auction rounds. We are additionally delighted with the speed with which the first four gTLDs have moved from contract signing to delegation. This is a momentous point in the Internet's development and means there is a strong probability that our portfolio will move to cash generative positions within the time-frames previously indicated."

,

Things should start picking up momentum here again with a fundamentally important & news rich period for TLDH.
