Excellent interims and the market has responded appropriately. Minor worry that Korea so dominant in the business ; disaster possible there. But perhaps I worry too much.
Will it hit £2 this year?

-- Net cash of GBP2.71 million (31 March 2016: GBP2.46 million)

Operational highlights

-- Good performances from core businesses in the UK, albeit offset by the decision to discontinue commercial ducting fabrication business

-- Strong performance from South Korea, which accounts for the largest share of Profit before Tax
-- Good result from Titon Inc. in the US
-- Increased exports to continental Europe and additional resources committed

Keith Ritchie, Chairman of Titon, said:

"I am very pleased to report a record half year for Titon with revenue growth of 29% and a 61% increase in Profit before Tax. Earnings per share also rose significantly (+34%) and the Interim Dividend is raised by 20%. This performance would have been even better without the costs associated with the Group's exit from commercial ducting fabrication in the UK.

In the UK, both the Brexit negotiations and the imminent General Election create degrees of uncertainty. Nonetheless, we expect our core UK businesses to continue to grow in the second half. Another strong performance is also expected from South Korea and, while the US is a smaller region for Titon right now, it is doing well and we intend to commit further resources there. The same goes for the Group's exports to continental Europe.

This geographical diversity is a strength and, particularly, when it is combined with great products, great people and a strong balance sheet. I am confident that we will have a good result for the year".

Good end to the week as it getsback into the 130s. The only broker forecast I can find reckons on EPS of 16.5p for next yr. That makes the share price still attractive......if they are right.

Yeah, the sale today was for less than 4% of his holding.
Interesting article in the Sunday Times the other day on air quality and ventilation requirements in new homes which surely must help Titon's business:
hxxp://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/homes-will-be-sealed-against-poisoned-air-stzdpcjlc
As this may not be accessible without subscription, the following short extract gives a flavour of it:
"New homes in areas of poor air quality are set to be fitted with airtight doors and sealed windows to protect families from smog and pollution.

Compulsory whole-house ventilation systems would filter out pollutants from the air coming inside.

Local authorities would be required to make airtight homes a condition when granting planning permission to a development in a location where pollution breaches limits, known as an air quality management area. The measure will be included in a white paper on housing policy, according to The Sunday Times."

Not sure how reassured we should be about the Korean dominance here. It is politically and economically stable now , but with a lunatic over the border and PRC flexing muscles it may not always be so. Korea has an interesting modern history and not just the Korean War.
However there are uncertainties wherever we invest and Forex is probably a minor one.

Hi Wad Collector, I'm away from the house just now, some time ago like 2 years a fair value was 1.50 and since then prospects have improved. When I get back to base next week I'll further check for a fair value. Titon had a number of good point like low debt, big director holding, good quality product in the ironmongery, a Korea base manufacturing MVHR system, low PE and my favourite a low price when I bought during 2011? No houses built at this time which depressed the price. I think we seen some profit taking today and last week I planned the same, however when I checked this was still a bargain and just want profits to run on a bit more. These days it's so much harder to get a value share that now I am planning another type of strategy, say invest in the bigger co's and buy near a year low and sell near a year high. These are my thoughts at the present time. Don

I am averaging a bit less but also sitting on hands. Hard to know what target. I like to look at EPS , Hardman guess 15.9p this yr , which would not make £3 an outrageous valuation . ( a gross simplification and I do not pretend it will happen this yr )
