red: yep i agree. I think we are potentially going to see a fair few takeovers this year and TON could be one of them.

I takes two to make a market so best leave these bears to believe what they like and one day in the future when the markets take a dip they can say "i told you so"

patviera: the average PE on FTSE 100 stocks is only 15, hardly expensive. the VIX is very low at 14. we have a lot further to go in this market yet. people are just seeing the ftse 100 at an area of 7000 and thinking it will not go any further. it looks to be going a lot further just yet. thanks for your concern, but can we not stay on the subject of TON. if you want to take about the markets in general I can give you some links to some other boards...

I disagree... the trend looks to have a long way to go, volatility is low, some decent companies on attract valuations out there.

If one invests in stocks with a decent Margin of Safety and invests with adjusted position sizing to each stock in question and together with following the trend, banking some profits and dividends along the way than one can sleep at night and not worry about a crash. If however you are in blue sky stocks that have no real profit or sales etc than you will have a bigger problem. When the trend stops being a trend, I will simply tighten my stops, stop buying and potentially bank some profits. Banking the odd profit here and there along the way makes the process somewhat easier.

MrxA trend is a trend until it's not a trend!!Don't listen to Overass as he is always bullish and I called the last crash in 2007 which he duly forgets You've all been warned

Please do not listen to Pat. I promise that she has been spouting this line about a crash for years. Probably trying to get the price down!

I don't think it is wise to call any top or bottom. What is wise is to follow a trend. We are in a trend at present and the trend looks to continue...

Being in a stock like TON, which in my view has a "Margin of Safety" is not something I personally worry about.

Calling a bear market is one thing but calling a correction is another. In any event a bullish call or a bearish call will one day be proved right as the market does not head in the same direction all of the time. The question is timing and when these changes will occur????

I have the same view about US stocks. How do you think this will affect the FTSE? It is not as overvalued as S&P, so maybe not as big a correction or crash, but obviously the markets would react together

Thanks
