13/4/2006 22:10 | BR has just picked up a 3rd UK investment company job - He's become MD at Gledhow Investments on OFEX, a vehicle that he already owns a substantial proportion of the shares. No signs of him taking things easier then! | topvest

12/4/2006 10:21 | thanks Sky, good to hear BR taking time out. | integer
12/4/2006 09:15 | Hi Integer - BR very chatty. Confirmed slight delay in the Finals, but really only to do with sorting out legislation. From further intimations in the chat I suspect this has more to do with gaining some concession from the powers that be regarding the directors' stake in the Company perhaps increasing over the 30% threshold if existing shares in Treasury are further increased by yet more buybacks. BR wants to pay dividends and conduct buybacks; but matters are apparently complicated on both scores. I suspect negotiations with the LSE/DTI/FSA/Whoever are the cause of the delay rather than sheer red-tape; perhaps coupled with a natural reluctance to pay tax any sooner than absolutely necessary! I also asked about Strongbow Capital the relatively new significant shareholder. This may have been discussed on this thread last autumn when Strongbow first appeared. BR stated that Strongbow is a Bahamian investment vehicle run by a couple of brothers named French doesn't know (or wouldn't say) any more about them. Altogether not very informative perhaps I needed to work on more leading questions! Still, encouraging when the CEO is prepared to take time out to talk to inquisitive shareholders. | skyship
11/4/2006 19:08 | How long is medium term? 1 to 3 weeks or 1 to 3 years? | metallica
11/4/2006 09:43 | Tick up today. I am very confident about this share in the medium term. | ccorton
08/4/2006 21:39 | Sky - my thoughts exactly, tried the company yesterday, same ansaphone. Can't try on Monday though as out, let us know how you get on? | integer
08/4/2006 17:48 | Integer - presumably you mean the Finals, not the NAV statement. I was thinking the same thing so rang the Company yesterday. Ansaphone from BR, so rang Colin bird's office - out yesterday, back in office Monday, so will phone again then & report back. His sec said no date yet set, but early summer. My interest is that I expect the Company to seek approval for share buybacks again. Such a great way to increase residual NAV if the Company can buy at a healthy discount to current NAV - as per the Asset Revaluation trusts. If the Finals are, say, in May and the AGM in July/August; then we could see buybacks starting again immediately thereafter. So in just 5-6 months the share price would likely be back up to the 4p level; ie a nice 25%-30% gain if you can buy at c3.1p-3.2p. May not happen of course but IMO the downside is limited and the upside potential fully justifies the trade. | skyship
08/4/2006 15:12 | Results were published last year 24th February so by comparison they are late. Interims were posted in August so April would be more in line for finals. Lets hope they are waiting for some good news to coincide with the results. | kombimatec

07/4/2006 16:42 | any idea when the 2005 results will be announced? 2004 results were in Feb last year. | integer
07/4/2006 14:07 | Great - bt another 100/- @ 3.1p - that's 37% discount to the new NAV of 4.94p. IMO this stock should be standing at a maximum discount of 25% in view of the management's willingness to buy back stock, perhaps no more than 20%. Those discounts would equate to 3.7p & 3.95p. Makes the current share price appear rather cheap. | skyship
30/3/2006 14:46 | 150k @3.3p was my purchase adding to my holding | kombimatec |
