So why not wait until it hurts , asked I.

Hence it has been a quiet afternoon and I have been able to count matchsticks .

Poor girl is a tad nervous so I have been very kind and comforting.
That could change very quickly when the Bill comes in.

The hand brake thing is nothing. It just needed the brake shoes bedded in a bit to remove rust that builds up in drum. Drove a mile or so with hand brake on and off -- sorted. I will take drums off though when it is warmer and check properly but for time being rubbing noise is no more and brakes are effective again at rear. Often happens when car is not braked hard and wet weather, or after we return from summer holiday.

Re Receptionist - known her a long time and used to work for company I worked for. Afraid she is not my type, not like LL at all...two ends of a spectrum.

Car has passed the MOT test. Just one advisory the hand brake needs adjusted slightly as comes up a bit high. Seemed fine to me but will take a look when I get the car back. I was talking to receptionist on phone when Trish walked in to see if car was ready as along that end of town. I had the receptionist in fits of laughter so I expect Mrs J will be wondering what the heck I was saying to her.
