One, that is me, assumes that your goodly wife, that is Mrs JJ, (or jonckess) like to have a wet bum as I see no mudgards, One, that is me again, knows that it can be very wet in Scotlandshire. Not like the desert down this 'ere area.

I could make lighter by changing the cranks and chainset to alloy, also a new seat but Mrs J likes her comfy saddle. Already made a lot lighter by changing the spokes and hubs, along with lighter inner tubes.

Afternoonish all, JJ , gave it a huge amount of time regarding the weight of the bike , and after careful consideration it was a while before lightning struck , you can make the bike a great deal lighter.

I blame the farmers plowing fields on a dry day. FFP has a lot to be blamed for.
Actually it is probably the very fine silt stuff they use on Austrian paths where we do most of our cycling.

Ahhhh! I forgot to add extra lube to the gears. Just oiled and wiped excess off the chain after washing it in ultra sonic cleaner. Amazed at the amount of fine sand which washed out.

Must be lighter than it was, Mrs J says it feels lighter. Goes well, and Trish says it is really good and just like a new bike. Postman thinks it looks great and was very impressed.

Got the impression it still weighed a ton so checked the weight. 15Kg.
Checked my bike and it is also 15Kg but I have extras like a bike rack but mine feels a heck of a lot lighter. Strange!
