09/1/2015 15:19 | Hey Temp what price you in at? Would you buy at these levels or hold out for a cheaper price? | justwondering
09/1/2015 12:22 | Funny guy......Could I suggest comedy rather than investment advice! | temporarily insane
09/1/2015 12:12 | Life don't seem like a box of chocolates for holders of THT, perhaps a stock drop to 50p might encourage buyers | justwondering
09/1/2015 01:24 | I wonder whether THT will show any strength on the run-up to the results in just over a week or will stagnate and even drift lower until the picture is clearer. They must know that anything negative is going to kill the shareprice but what chance of a surprise? | lauders
07/1/2015 15:33 | No sense in risking too much. A nibble here and there adds up. | casholaa
07/1/2015 15:13 | That was a small short. | temporarily insane
07/1/2015 15:03 | Exit for me. | casholaa
07/1/2015 14:14 | Looks as though Blackrock are messing around with the share price again since the issue at Thorntons. And they say that the market cannot be manipulated by fund managers who short with such a small amount....ie Blackrock!!!!! The board should take a long hard look at the issue and sack whoever was responsible. Stupid error by whoever responsible. | temporarily insane
05/1/2015 15:42 | Sorry to repost must have missed it. Encouraging analysis but personally I would not attach much weight to it. | crbema
05/1/2015 09:10 | Posted a few days ago crbema. How much weight do you attach to it? | richf75
04/1/2015 21:35 | Hmmmmmmm shelves empty perhaps due to the current warehouse issues | justwondering
02/1/2015 13:20 | on a better note.. popped in to the local Thorntons shop this morning.Despite a big 50% Sale Notice in the window, most of the shelves were clear, and the jolly Shop Assistant was more than happy with recent trade, commenting that the reported Delivery problems just before Christmas had only a minor effect. She was looking forward to a good year. | jfacwc
02/1/2015 08:37 | richf75 - Agreed. Hope it is all priced in but likely to take another hit unless they can make it sound positive for the future. If the figures manage to actually surprise a little (will not meet their projections though!) and make it crystal clear the warehouse is working correctly and efficiently, then there may be some hope. Rather concerned they had these problems at the worst time of the year! Also a little concerned about the reports on quality dropping with regards to the taste in such a short time when just last year everyone could not fault the chocolates. The 3-year plan presentation on the website makes good reading. Has it really de-railed to such an extent? | lauders
02/1/2015 07:56 | Do THT's sales include those items stacked up in great mounds in several of the supermarkets I have visited in the last few days? Has the EU butter mountain been replaced by the THT chocolate mountain? For example, SBRY were massively discounting a lot of Christmas lines on Boxing Day having presumably over-stocked, but the discounts on THT's products seemed far more modest, with the results that they seemed very prevalent. If these sell, all well and good but I have my doubts. And presumably this will affect future sales. | shanklin
01/1/2015 09:24 | Gargoyle - thanks for the link. Nice to see some optimism about!Lauders - I'd quite like a positive update but how likely is that a month after a profit warning? Surely the best we can hope for is that all the bad news is priced in? | richf75
01/1/2015 01:37 | Well I hope the update due mid-January will surprise people in a positive way and get THT back on to investor's radars! Will find out very soon! | lauders
31/12/2014 10:45 | Long or Short - that is the question? | orthopaedic shoes
30/12/2014 17:25 | hopefully more shorts are being closed... but not, as you say, it makes much difference. | jfacwc
30/12/2014 15:03 | Think I was possibly grasping at straws! Why market price manipulation? Who do you think is doing it and to what end? Recent opinion on here seemed to be it was shorts being closed by those 'in the know' and then look what happened! | richf75
30/12/2014 14:09 | encouraging?seems, as usual, like more market price manipulation..hardly reflects the excellent box of tht chocs. served after a dinner party last night.. | jfacwc
30/12/2014 13:37 | 35k buy just posted. Encouraging to see there's still buyers out there. CA adding? | richf75
30/12/2014 09:57 | No holding here anymore but sorry to see the management getting xmas all wrong on the logistics. From a customer POV the size reductions are getting a little obvious, not sure about quality - I assume unchanged. Hard to see where these might go in the near term, any more bungling though might well bring out a bidder. From here its all about Easter - then the yawn fest of Summer. Hopefully things will look better but holders would do well to sell shortly after Easter a THT has 'form' beyond that point. | stud-muffin |
