Going to streamline the business and move less towards high street and more online. In the meantime raise several hundred million from part sale of business and we have a fresh cleaner and better strategically placed business with much less and very manageable debt....this will soar this week!

Some of its largest shareholders have backed a quest to get through the summer and turn round a parlous financial position. Steve Davies, a fund manager at top five investor Jupiter, has pointed out that Thomas Cook generated £250m of profit two years ago. “I do think it is capable of getting back to those kind of levels in more normal market conditions,” he said.

Thomas Cook is attempting to woo long-suffering investors with a radical plan to transform itself into an online holiday market place.

The embattled travel agent, which has put its airline on the market in a bid to repair its battered balance sheet, held a series of meetings with top institutional shareholders last week. City sources said many investors were buoyed at Thomas Cook’s plans for “RemainCo”.

On the assumption that the airline is offloaded later this year, the travel agent will focus on its website, in particular an online portal that allows customers to hand pick parts of their holiday. A choice of third-party airlines and hotels alongside extras such as excursions will be available under what one insider called a “pseudo-aggregator” model.

Management, led by boss Peter Fankhauser, are pushing ahead with plans to transform Thomas Cook into an “asset-light” organisation.

It will continue to own hotels – but these will be kept off the balance sheet through an arms-length “hotels fund”. The firm plunged into crisis last year after record summer temperatures prompted customers to stay at home, sparking a string of profit warnings.

You keep telling yourself that then, you must be skint as you don't understand business at all do you !I was trying to help you by convincing you to close a short if you had one but your still here saying the same rubbish. You say your not a shorter and you hold and lost most of your investment, so why are you still here?I would have moved on as I have many many investments in my portfolio and let others make there own decisions. Your here for alternative motives, your a social comelian making out you want the share price to go up when it does, and when it falls a little you jump all over.12p will be when your worried it will go higher lol, you must think we're all as gulable as you. Watch an learn this week.

Hammopj, i know you are not shorting as small investors dont know how to short properly. What are your margins and how many points do you take? What broker do you use? I dont even believe you are invested here. You must be in your early 20s and single?
