19/3/2013 08:06 | goliard, i'm guessing that pension deficit must have gone a long way to sorting itself out in the last six months, no? | brando69
19/3/2013 08:05 | Not sure about the strong balance sheet, but they are doing well to keep turnover and even a small profit. Pension deficit was over £12m in 2012. | goliard
19/3/2013 08:00 | Goliard, I agree that the margins here are extremely slim, but they seem to be weathering the storm well, and the housing/construction market seems to be past the worst imo. They clearly have a good reputation at what they do, have a strong balance sheet, and even a small increase in margins is going to go straight to the bottom line. The main negative for me here is the lack of significant director holdings, even though the guys at the top have been with the company for years. | gargoyle2
19/3/2013 07:48 | looks pretty decent imo, cheap by many standards | empirestate
19/3/2013 07:24 | Underlying profit only 1.6% and PBT only 0.6% approx. Profit significantly down and they can only pay the dividend because of better cash collection. They should not be paying the dividend IMO as they are perilously close to having to raise cash if things go even slightly wrong. They should be conserving cash in this market but appear to be paying the dividend to keep shareholders focused on the yield and not sell shares. Still one to avoid until this gets sorted out. | goliard
19/3/2013 07:19 | good solid performance; increased cash and maintained dividend - c 5.5% at this level | janeann
19/3/2013 07:12 | Well done Tommy Clarke for remaining profitable through the construction downturn and maintaining the dividend. | drewz
19/3/2013 07:11 | Solid results imo. | gargoyle2
18/3/2013 16:59 | up 4.7% on the day, albeit on minimal volume - not much to suggest either speculation or panic ahead of results... be interesting to see what they come up with at 7am | brando69
18/3/2013 11:33 | chart not showing the actual price movements, as per usual | brando69
18/3/2013 11:32 | already a penny more expensive to buy | brando69
18/3/2013 11:31 | topped up with another 2651 shares... ask strengthening... maybe some +ve news trickling out ahead of tomorrow | brando69
18/3/2013 09:12 | Keep an eye on CTO here, imo. About to bounce off the 100 day and move back up towards 60p? | gargoyle2
18/3/2013 08:59 | Not CYPRUS Its all CENTRAL bankers gone mad trying to prop up something thats dead. That is THE EURO. Enter the MONTIS and the DRAGHIS when ITALY is itself BANKRUPT. | hvs
18/3/2013 08:48 | well, it's not being affected by the cyprus induced mark-down today... up 1.5% on the day | brando69
15/3/2013 17:16 | brando look again, Henderson down to 6.88% - Milton bought this chunk (2.9m shares) on March 1st. I don't know why they've taken until today to announce. I take it as a positive, if an institution of wanted to sell this size ahead of results it would normally trash the price. Milton happy to take the stake ahead of results. I expect a rise from here. | ivancampo
15/3/2013 16:45 | steady buying, small chunks... but i think the bottom may have been reached here. | brando69
15/3/2013 10:43 | well henderson have offloaded near on 2m shares, which takes them down from 14 to 10%. obviously going to have an impact on a stock that isn't that liquid... lets just hope this is random rejigging and not selling because they know sth about next week's update. | brando69
14/3/2013 16:16 | Any idea when the next update is scheduled? | gargoyle2
13/3/2013 19:09 | This recent fall is on minimal volume; the rise to over 60 was off the back of huge volume. Maybe a bounce off the 200 day MA at 52. Unless there is bad news trickling out ahead of update... any views? | brando69
13/3/2013 19:06 | Not looking too clever. Henderson reduced holding a touch, but only circa 80,000 shares. | brando69
05/3/2013 16:13 | Milton group takes 7.09% | cestnous
25/2/2013 17:36 | not looking very clever today | brando69
22/2/2013 16:41 | here's hoping this is just a retest of support before the next leg up... i bought in at 58.5 a few weeks back. | brando69 |
