I'm sitting on 42% from just a few months ago and am very much thinking about "leave some for the next man."

Whatever, we all have our own reasons for buying, selling etc. I just thought the time was right, I'm probably wrong but I've made a huge amount here so I'm very happy

I can't see the point of holding cash, it's dropped like a stone and imo it'll go down faster than the value of any share I currently hold.

It was a hard decision to sell but I have been holding these for years and watched them go up and down. My decision to sell was based on all the uncertainty that's going to start once we really start to leave the EU and the fact they have had a great run since results. I am looking to buy back on dips hopefully.

Three months to run up to special dividend much can be done in that time with cash that may well stand idle.

I'm currently sitting on a 20% profit and considered moving the cash until late May but I'm topped out on "Income from Disposals" until the new financial year because I'm not keen on filling out the SA108 form.

This will be touching £2.50+ by the summer, Why sell now when there is a big dividend looming, Doesn't make sense to me Baracuda2 ? These share are obviously on an upward path & IMHO was not expecting these to be anywhere near this level for at least another few months, so IMHO these have a lot further to go by the summer, Not that I have any immediate plans to sell any as the dividends alone make these worth hanging on to for at least a couple of years.

Bara - results last week? sector performance? A bit puzzling. Special div ex date not til June. Also, HFX house price survey today which suggests price GROWTH is slowing but that, AS USUAL, supply being held back. See extract below.

Howard Archer, chief UK and European economist at IHS Markit, said: “February̵7;s slight rise in house prices reported by the Halifax fuels our belief that house price gains over 2017 will be no more than 3% and could well be less.
“Weakening consumer fundamentals, likely mounting caution over making major spending decisions, and elevated house price to earnings ratios are likely to weigh down on house prices. However, a shortage of supply is likely to put a hard floor under prices.”

And Budget tomorrow. Modification of stamp duty? Building/construction boost?

Not that I'm complaining but what's driving the share price at the moment, is there anything in the budget that I don't know about?

British population to exceed 70m within ten years - that's 500,000 a year - somewhat hard not to be bullish on housing demand then http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4278660/Britain-s-population-pass-70-million-10-years.html

Stick your cash in the Nationwide and earn peanuts while 6 directors are still raking in over a million each.

Stick your cash in any public company's shares and you're going to be met with Greedy Company directors, it's the way of the World these days.

No way. These are not poor people. Probably kicking themselves as they could have got 185 if they'd waited just a day.

But it points to them having no confidence in the share price reaching higher than 179.

What's that tell the average punter waiting to get in? Has TW. topped out?

All imho etc

If you were given free shares I am sure you would be selling as well, especially as its nearly the end of the tax year.

Toss directors selling @ 179 to meet tax instead of just paying the tax.
Inspires zero confidence and pushed the share price down.

I have had a great time with TW and BDEV from dividends and specials. BDEV have announced it will continue for a 4th year. Wonderful. Hopefully TW will follow suit.
