13/7/2010 09:07 | Well done kazz, and it's happening again as we speak.Tiddly little sells on LSE to keep it ticking over and a 100000 buy goes through plus! | barf2
13/7/2010 09:00 | Well Barf2 and NK, i have emailed the company about our concerns, re the trading platforms. Kazz | kazz
13/7/2010 08:25 | Morning all. There is no reason why TW have to trade on 2 platforms. That is down to the company and it's nomad I believe. May be we should all be emailing PR to get him to take it off plus. It is however cheaper to use plus so I don't think we will see a change. | newkid
12/7/2010 15:13 | You've gotta laugh Through gritted teeth the telegaph has had to report that mortgages were up in May. | barf2
12/7/2010 14:52 | Someone's obviously paying attention. On PLUS they are now showing every trade as a sell when they are nearly all buys. 48124 buy at 26.856 when LSE can't find a buy to break up the sells. | barf2
12/7/2010 14:37 | ftse's only up 26! | scars
12/7/2010 14:36 | Bloody hell Wimpey stay awake and watch the FTSE. | camelot5
12/7/2010 14:23 | The chart goes all the way to 20p in the channel we're in now. If TW can't even hold its' own when the FTSE is up we are done for when it takes a hit. We're back to £30 sell trades being pushed through LSE again. What a mockery! | barf2
12/7/2010 13:59 | I don't believe there is any desire or urgency to offload the US.I think that is just pumped out every now and again to fill space and justify broker costs etc I think it would be a bottom of the market disposal as you say.I think they want to keep it which is one of the reasons they are exploring their options with the banks at present. | barf2
12/7/2010 13:46 | I think the sale/flotation of the US division is a grey area. If they demerge and float as a separate listing and the funds are used to pay down UK debt then imo this will be a very good move. If they sell to apy of UK debt and concentrate on the UK will they be selling a prize asset at the bottom of the market? | spennysimmo
12/7/2010 13:36 | I think generally it is seen as positive but the TW market is completely under the control of a few big players who have colluded on where the share price is to go. Most days we see more buying than selling and without doubt, if the trades had been allowed to go through the book, we wouldn't be in this dreadful downward spiral.I don't think the hedgies could control SETS if all the buys were allowed to go through the book. It only takes a few phone calls to other big funds to say 'I wouldn't buy any TW for a while but I'll call you when that's not the case and we can all make hay'. Of course it doesn't necessarily follow that buying outweighing selling means the share price should go up.It is the weight of pressure on the sell side that causes the slide but I would be quite happy if I could see plenty of selling volume and would have an explanation but each day I witness the share price being held within a certain range as described above. Don't forget we had the early spike down to 26.6p so that is probably todays end of day target. | barf2
12/7/2010 13:13 | There have been more buys than sells on LSE today. What I don't understand is why the market is not seeing refinancing talks as good news. The base rate is lower now than when they would have negotiated the current deal. They are doing it expand on land growth which will reap rewards. It has been said it is nothing to de with breaching covenents. Yet the share price is down and down more than all other housebuilders. Just doesn't make any sense. | spennysimmo
12/7/2010 10:10 | That's how it reads to me as well. It is a good example of how prevailing market sentiment dictates how the same words can be read but lead to different interpretations. In a booming market full of positivity that statement would cause some celebration that TW are aggressively seeking land but in the current mood the doomsayers can put their spin on it. We've got a bit of a stalemate going on with the share price Sells being sprinkled onto SETS to dampen the share price and all buys being sent to PLUS but it gives the early impression of a bit of resillience today. | barf2
12/7/2010 10:04 | There is a very big difference in refinancing because there is a risk of breaching covenents or because you want the flexibility to buy more land. TW are being very proactive imo. | spennysimmo
12/7/2010 09:56 | What an outrageous thing to suggest ;-) | barf2
12/7/2010 09:52 | barf2, it would not surprise me if HSBC are short, they make a packet and then go long prior to agreeing the financing deal. | smurfy2001
12/7/2010 09:48 | Sell or float the US Division. Debt free. | spennysimmo
12/7/2010 09:46 | Exactly smurfy | hope67
12/7/2010 09:46 | You wouldn't fancy HSBC being too generous with terms after their bear mauling of the sector last week [or was that just some leverage being sought by HSBC in readiness for refinance talks?] | barf2
12/7/2010 09:42 | Well if they give positive news in August, it may stack in their favour. Put it this way, if the board were not confident, they would not be piling into shares recently ;-) | smurfy2001
12/7/2010 09:40 | This will be a recovery stock if they can refinance over 4 years the uncertainty will be taken away and being able to buy more land they will be able to be more competitive would of thought the housing market will be more bouyant in four years time. | hope67
12/7/2010 09:26 | 'Attaboy! Now pick it up and run with it. | barf2 |
