The offer of 97pps would move TAM's average to 1.51p They clearly see the collective value at around this price. Other industry players will be looking at this. I've always said TT at around 1.40 would be fair value. I would not sell at this time. Even TAM walk away, the fundamentals of TT are strong

Genuine Gamblers

Of course Dunstone will accept it 97p. Most probably him and his Merryman will majority own the new company . It's a lowball offer. It's facilitating the exit from the stock market.

TalkTalk is way undervalued. Yes it mismanaged as in UK dividend is what screws companies. Money should be ploughed in the business for growth. That's why most UK companies fail, the minute they cut div theY get killed.

Private companies are managed better as they do not need to keep market happy. In fact most family businesses in UK always end in tears, by doing IPO. Market always demand bigger dividend and growth, but both can't happen.

TalkTalk will be refloated in 2 years- 3 years with a valuation of 7bn-8bn or more. Dunston will make a few billion out of the transaction. You seen the IPO, AML, HUT group etc.

That's my 2 cents.

Over the last 12 months 15m shares have been bought by the BOD Dunstone being the biggest at 6.3 mAt 97p offer, they are all underwater. The latest CEO average is 1.15 per share. Why would they support this offer, they would all lose money. There has to be a side deal somewhere. As always PI's are left outside!

Ridiculous low ball offer. I work in Telecoms and know all the players. TT are flying in the B2B market, the only game in town against BT, Virgin, SSE and others. Directors recent purchases at around 88p would give them around 10% but some of them must still be underwater collectively, there has to be a side deal somewhere. Lets see what the industry players do next. I see fair value at around 1.20

This could and should go higher for a couple of reasons. That said, I reflected for 5 minutes and sold all my holding. Happy to be out of this after and accept the loss.

I find it hard to believe the board will accept this price given they were buying a fair bit higher not so long ago. If that happens then we in for months of uncertainty.

Good luck to all.

The problem is the share register - 70% or so of the shares held between Dunstone, Ross and Toscafund.

If Dunstone likes the idea of going private with Toscafund then how do the independent directors convince a third party that they've got a serious chance of winning a bid? At best, a third party might feel it would just be used as a stalking horse for a higher Toscafund bid, and what's the point of expending resources on that?

Decided to shift half at 97.5'ish in case it all falls through, will keep the other half to see where it goes. It certainly isn't THE most generous of offers IMO but who knows where it will go from here?

Not happy with 97p however it does force hands. Watch this space I guess. Still sat on my biggest loss in a decade.

Certainly a low ball, but reflects the bance sheet!

It's been a long time coming and I am amazed that they can get away with a sub-£1 offer. But, at least we get a bit of a shareprice pop today and it is officially "in play". What chance a competing offer?

UP 10% in last week.

TalkTalk looking very solid.

TalkTalk's astonishing 50% market share of all UK small B2B wholesale broadband is undervalued and remains mispriced by the market.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

Looking a bit better. I took advantage of the bounce to sell some more to raise funds for another opportunity. Big loss on average purchase price, but it still doesn't feel like its particularly likely to accelerate upwards from here in the near-term.

Looks like TALK finally waking from its slumber. I know there was the suspicion that all the directors buys were the prelude to possibly a concert party take out, but I think it was more a case of seeing the company's prospects undervalued and making sure that any more unsolicited bids before true value were achieved, could be fought off. Ive taken a good few on a spreadbet as well as the ISA with a reasonable expectancy of £1.20 before the new year.
