18/4/2024 15:44 | Buy backs up to 100,000 shares a day is intetesting. Could these re visit 630s | sbb1x
12/4/2024 09:52 | Think the days of maga high coal prices is well behind us although I don't see any reduction in usage being phased out for many years to come (India etc) Don't see this going anywhere close to the previous £16 level but with a steady revenue stream from physical sales I am more than happy with my "passive income" holding for just the dividends alone | casket1
11/4/2024 15:22 | Not many canaries in these mines! I seem to remember AAL "gifted" me this holding. Added some. Sold some. Still unsure what I'm doing here. Can't complain about dividend stream but capital-wise, I just tend to view it a "foreign aid". Who remembers Lonmin? | penandnen
19/3/2024 16:21 | Why the big jump today when news was yesterday morning? | hunter154
19/3/2024 10:36 | Thanks for the responses. I am registered as a sole trader, my business being share trading. So trading gains/losses count as income alongside dividends, PAYE earnings, pension, interest etc. I cam also offset income against prior year trading losses. So if it turns out that I don't have to pay tax in 23/4, or at least not much, the my thinking is that i could reclaim the tax paid in SA (I assume there is a double taxation agreement with the UK.) anyway, more in hope than expectation, i have registered on www.sars.gov.za to see if i can make any progress | hipete69
19/3/2024 10:05 | Thanks Casket; so owning the shares in a tax exempt UK wrapper like ISA/SIPP does not help? | hunter154
19/3/2024 09:48 | Dividends are tax exempt if the beneficial owner of the dividend is an SA-resident company, SA-retirement fund or other prescribed exempt person, otherwise the 20% tax will pretty much apply to all holders (including hipete69, sorry) | casket1
19/3/2024 09:29 | In theory you should be able to but, nobody is geared up to do so. | joey52
19/3/2024 08:40 | Has anyone got experience of reclaiming the Witholding Tax? What's the best practical way to do it? Many thanks | hipete69

15/3/2024 11:04 | Sturmey, I cant wait for the results. Coal stocks are cheap the world over. Hope the market gives TGA love on Monday. | hunter154
12/3/2024 10:08 | Hunter - the dividend is in ZAR not pence, so that makes the yield approx. 44% in my view, which is excellent!!! | scorpione
11/3/2024 23:11 | HunterYou are spot on.TGA is as cheap as chips. But most private investors only buy as part of a crowd.Be contrarian! Fill your boots now!I am long oil, uranium and coal. Go for itSturmey | sturmey

06/2/2024 07:00 | Record Indonesian exports of mainly cheap lower grade coal dampening the whole market, Indonesia increased their global coal exports in 2023 over 2022 by 50million tons, pretty much SA total export volume. | e43
03/2/2024 06:38 | hmm...is it gonna retest 4.69 😲 | leggytrader
30/1/2024 09:08 | chartwise it does look as though it can kick on a bit more and quite a good trading stock as NO SD to pay . | arja
29/1/2024 14:16 | Yeh, first time in a while, racing past £5 now....... | casket1
29/1/2024 11:26 | I looked at my portfolio this morning and saw TGA was up today! That is a turn up for the books. | 1knocker
09/1/2024 17:42 | Depends what you think the dividend will look like.... (Thermal coal down in US, Richards Bay futures no particular direction... that leaves dividend speculation unless Red Sea problems for Oz coal transitting...) | sogoesit |
